The Climbing Pikmin is a Pikmin species adapted to live in forest canopies, from which they rarely descend, and appearing in Pikmin: The Continents. Their diet consists only of meat, typically that of Climbazees, which fear them and are their main prey, or insects that also inhabit the treetops. Because of their lifestyle, Climbing Pikmin developed sharp claws on their hands and feet, to aid in hunting, climbing, and defense; they also have immensely powerful legs that allow them to leap between trees effectively, and deliver debilitating kicks while defending themselves if scratching doesn't suffice. Those that are wounded by a Climbing Pikmin are liable to die from infection if not treated. Climbing Pikmin become extremely agitated when something, even other Climbing Pikmin, intrudes upon their territory.
