Rowan is a tiger in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Doubutsu no Mori+ as a cranky islander, and after his appearance in Doubutsu no Mori e+, he appears in all subsequent games as a jock villager. This makes Rowan the first villager to have a personality change between games, followed by Harry and Violet.
In New Horizons, Rowan has the fitness hobby and will wear sporty shades and lift heavy dumbbells while exercising.
Characteristics[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Rowan is an orange tiger with black stripes and a large white muzzle. He has small belittling eyes, a characteristic of his former cranky personality, and an aqua color in his ears. As an islander in Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, he wore a straw hat, which he no longer wears in future installments.

Rowan's personality changes from a cranky islander in Animal Crossing to a jock villager from Animal Crossing: Wild World onwards. He is the first villager to have his personality changed.
Animal Crossing[edit]

As a cranky islander, Rowan has a suave, romantic nature prone to smooth-talking flirtation and nostalgically reminiscing about the past. In conversation, Rowan will often bring up the romance of the island's scenery while charming the player. His debonair and sweet but somewhat vain personality will often result in showing off his talents and experience in attempts to sing to or dance with the player. He asks the player for stylish furniture he can coordinate with in his island house to impress female visitors.
Wild World onwards[edit]

Since Animal Crossing: Wild World, Rowan has a jock personality, which means he is energetic and has an interest in physical fitness and activity. He often talks about exercise or sports and may brag about his physical fitness. While often friendly to the player, he may comment on their fitness. During conversations with other villagers, he generally gets along well with peppy villagers due to their similar hyper personalities and will also get along with smug villagers, while he may offend snooty villagers by critiquing their fitness and annoy cranky villagers with his hyper personality. In New Horizons, Rowan goes to sleep at 12:30 AM and wakes up at 6:30 AM.

As an islander in Animal Crossing, Rowan has a favorite fruit and one he is allergic to. He is allergic to pears and loves apples, meaning giving him the former reduces the likelihood of him dropping Bells, and giving him the latter increases the likelihood of him dropping Bells.

As an islander, Rowan's house in Animal Crossing will begin with only one furniture item, along with the exotic wall and bamboo flooring. He will request specific items for the player to give to him, which he will place in his house. After he places two items in his house, he will upgrade his wallpaper, and after he places five items, he will upgrade his flooring. Weldon requests for the same items as Rowan, although his house has different wallpaper and flooring.
