The following is a list of episodes in the eighth season of SpongeBob SquarePants.
The episode "Squiditis" production code was 173a which makes SpongeBob SquarePants the longest running Nicktoon yet, surpassing the former holder, Rugrats, which ended at 172 episodes. This season was officially confirmed on August 7, 2010.
It is also the last season of the show to be presented in 4:3 standard definition.
