"Save Royal Woods!" is the 134th episode of The Loud House, and the series' second musical episode. It was notably the first episode (in production order) in which Lincoln was voiced by Bentley Griffin, who would continue to voice him until the next season's "Can't Lynn Them All" and the movie No Time to Spy: A Loud House Movie.
Synopsis[]
Everyone in Royal Woods is called to a town meeting where Mayor Davis introduces Michigan's undersecretary of water leisure, Joyce Crandall. Joyce announces to everyone that she is planning to boost Michigan's tourism by creating a new great lake, Lake Gladys (named after her mother). However, to make room for the lake, she is building it on the site of Royal Woods itself and is paying everyone to evacuate the city before she floods it. Nobody is happy about this decision, but Joyce insists that Royal Woods simply doesn't have anything special about it like its neighboring cities ("Already Forgot About You"). Following the town meeting, everyone panics over the thought of losing their home, but Lincoln convinces them all that if they work together, they can come up with something to make Royal Woods stand out and hopefully talk Joyce out of flooding the town.
The next day, Mayor Davis and Lincoln, whom she names "Honorary Jr. Mayor", hold auditions for ideas on how to save the city. Of all people, Flip is the one who provides the best idea - building the world's largest Flippee. The whole town gets to work on building the giant drink ("Flippee Jingle"). After several hours of construction, Joyce arrives and is astounded by the size of the Flippee, so much so that she actually does decide to cancel the flooding. But just then, the Flippee starts shaking violently; as it turns out, Flip had used gasoline instead of the Flippee recipe's syrup, and the gas mixed with the Flippee additives is causing a violent reaction. The giant Flippee erupts like a volcano, drenching everything and wrecking Joyce's car and her novelty dolphin bobblehead, Donna. Furious at this, Joyce moves up the destruction of Royal Woods to tomorrow.
Lincoln tells everyone that he has another plan, saying they may be able to save the town if they tell Joyce about an interesting historical event that happened there. Lisa tells him that's unlikely, as the town was named after an old oak tree, but Lincoln says maybe they should tell a story about a fake historical event to Joyce, since the city has the word "royal" in its name. With no other choice, everyone agrees to this plan. When Joyce shows up with the demolition crew the next morning, Lincoln greets her in colonial attire. Along with his family and friends, Lincoln tells her about how King George III paid a significant visit to Woods (as it was known back then) and even bartered his crown for a vacancy at a motel ("Keep Us Around"). After the song, Lincoln shows King George's crown to Joyce, which again seems to convince her into cancelling the flooding. But then she takes a closer look at the crown and finds it's actually one of Lola's pageant crowns, so she angrily declares again that the flooding is back on.
With all hope gone, Lincoln's friends begin to reminisce about their most cherished memories in Royal Woods, which gives one more idea. Lincoln tells Joyce that the memories that he, his family, and their friends have all made in Royal Woods are what really make it worth saving ("Right Where We Belong"), in addition to Lisa revealing out of the blue that Royal Woods is rich in a large number of minerals, in addition to being located right on top of a gigantic oil deposit. Despite their impassioned pleas, Joyce says she's still going forward with flooding the town. However, Joyce's demolition crew members are far more moved by the townspeople's song than she is and refuse to go forward with her plan, so she decides to destroy the town by herself. Before she can, however, Lola points out to her that Katherine Mulligan is reporting about this on the local news. Joyce attempts to save face and claims she's not trying to destroy the town, but she then gets a phone call from the over-secretary of water leisure, who is not at all happy about Joyce's plan and fires her. The Louds and their friends, knowing they've saved their hometown, promptly celebrate their victory with a reprise of "Right Where We Belong".
