Vampires (吸血鬼, Kyūketsuki) are described as a superior race of humans endowed with immortality.[1]
Information[]
Legend[]
Vampires have been known to be in European folklore and spread out across the world beginning in the 18th century. These creatures are humanoid in physical form, and possess supernatural powers. These beings are known to be immortal and undead, living off of life essence taken from other living organisms (mainly in the form of blood). Vampires have been said to stem from Transylvania, Serbia and have been recorded in many other mythologies around the world.[citation needed]
Abilities[]
Vampires have many superhuman abilities, including strength, flight, magic, and the ability to control darkness (besides immortality and drinking blood). The potential strength of these powers depend entirely on the powers of the moon. During full moons, vampires are at their peak powers, being able to use their strengths to almost unlimited capacities. As for the other parts of the lunar cycle, a vampire's powers will wax and wane according to the moon.[citation needed]
Weaknesses[]
Legend[]
Garlic and leeks have been poisonous to vampires.[citation needed]
Sunlight is also the natural weakness to the species, as it blisters and burns their pale skin.[citation needed]

Relations to Other Beings[]
Dana Ananga Jagannatha, a true pureblood, noted that purebloods virtually had no interest in human affairs.[6][1]However, two pureblood characters, Nikitis Laps and Baal, demonstrate a deep love to humanity.
Nikitis is portrayed as a pop-culture enthusiast, deeply enamored with 20th-century pop and rock music, often emulating the styles and dance moves of the era. His cynicism, as called out by Touta, masks a genuine admiration for humanity's spirit. Nikitis prefers novels that showcase human struggles and ideals.[7]Nikitis Laps wanted humans to remain as they were, not immortal; he wished to observe them as they navigated their lives. In contrast, Baal and Ialda Baoth aimed to lead humans into the Cosmo Entelecheia paradise, believing it would free them from their torment. However, this was the last thing Nikitis desired.[8]He also opposed the idea of making humankind immortal, which is why he was against Fate Averruncus's plan.[9]
Baal, on the other hand, views humanity as siblings raised on a different planet.[10]Although he expresses a twisted fondness for them, he perceives humans as weak and childlike, needing a superhuman figure to lead and protect them. This leads to his Messiah Complex, where he believes it is his duty to guide humanity, often without consulting them.[11] Unlike Dana, who empowers humans to seize their destinies, Baal acts unilaterally, making decisions for them and disregarding their opinions, treating them as unruly children in need of discipline.
Regarding fellow immortals, Dana states that immortals must be powerful and forces them to conform to her very high standards. To her, a powerless immortal is disgraceful, though she finds immortals with nothing but power just as disgraceful and encourages them to develop worthy minds as well.[12] Her views on looks also apply to that of immortals, stating they must either be gorgeous and elegant or creepy and frightening, with no middle ground.[13]
On the other hand, Baal harbors a strong dislike for immortals, deeming them a threat for humanity, killing and maiming them without a doubt.[14]
Nature[]
By nature purebloods have spirits (
Most of the nobles have lived so long they've lost all interest in everything. They're basically living corpses.[16] However, a few exceptions remain: Dana Ananga Jagannatha, Nikitis Laps, and Baal still engage with the world—until Baal was betrayed by the Lifemaker.
Abilities[]
They were a race whose every individual has enough power to earn them the title of Demon King (魔王) or Queen. The most advanced species of humankind.[17][18][19]
When a noble gets serious they can take out a whole castle or a whole town without breaking a sweat.[20]
The force of their existence was on a whole other level. If they summon their physical form, it would be clear why purebloods stayed away from the mortal plane: if they were not careful the lights of humanity are too easy to snuff out for them.[21]
Immortality: As High Daylight Walkers they can regenerate any wound, be it their entire body being blown to dust, along with having agelessness and an infinite lifespan. Among the High Daylight Walkers shown throughout the Uq Holder series, Dana boasts the strongest regeneration of them all, being able to completely restore her body after having it blown apart by a point-blank spell of her own in 0.5 seconds along with her clothing.[22]
Known High Daylight Walkers[]
Trivia[]
- One widely accepted theory as to the creation of these Shinso vampires come from the idea that the world must be balanced and returned to its original state. As humans and other creatures roam the world and corrupt it, it is a vampire's duty to restore that balance to the world.[citation needed]
