Jean Vilain is the main antagonist in the 2012 action film The Expendables 2.
He was portrayed by Jean-Claude Van Damme.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Evil?[]
- When Vilain and his dang would discover a Russian mine with 6 tones of pure plutonium, Vilain and his men would have many other men kidnapped and then force them to mine it to find the plutonium.
- They would also routinely kill the men they enslaved whenever they get tired.
- When he ambushes the team he uses their new team member, Billy, as a hostage. Barney refuses to give up the map though so Jean has Billy slowly stabbed in front of Barney which causes Maggie to give it up. He has Billy killed anyway though despite getting what he wanted.
- His ultimate goal is to sell his dangerous weapons across the world to make some money.
- Tries to speed up the mining by getting women and children involved and in order to cover up what he has been doing he orders the mines to be destroyed with many inside.
What Prevents Him from Being Pure Evil?[]
- Despite how obviously horrible Jean is he fails the heinous standard of the trilogy to James Munroe from the first film and Conrad Stonebanks from the third film. James Munroe also enslaved many people for his agenda but in his case, it was an entire country with women and children explicitly suffering as a result and Conrad planned to sell weapons across the entire world on an even larger scale which Jean's plan with that is not given much detail.
