She had a legendary disease known to be incurable. The person who suffered from the disease was said to acquire an infinite amount of Yin Qi and would die before the age of 20 due to severe side effects of broken elemental balance within the body.
In chapter 326 of the novel, Cheon Yeo Woon reluctantly sleeps with her as per Gam Rosu's declaration of it being the only possible treatment for her disease; she was unconscious, all while constantly releasing yin energy, but regains consciousness during the intercourse and later fainted again. The "treatment" is not only successful in curing the disease and saving her life, but the abundant Yin energy that Woon absorbs results in him breaking through to the next cultivation layer.
