COLD OPEN | Telly wonders to himself what today's letters and number are. Big Bird appears dressed in glasses, a bowtie, and a button that reads "Answer Bird" - that's the role he's assuming today, and proceeds to answer Telly's question. Telly then asks if he can be Answer Bird's assistant, even though he has a broken arm. Big Bird hires him on the spot, giving Telly the role of making a vocal fanfare to punctuate his statements.
SCENE 1 | At Hooper's Store, Grundgetta, a Honker, and some kids wait impatiently for their orders when Telly and Big Bird enter. Big Bird finds that there are no questions that need to be answered, as Gina seems to know the answers to all of them in advance when he poses a few for her. Gina notes how busy she is right now by asking Big Bird and Telly if they are going to order anything. The two don't have an answer to this yet and agree to get back with her later.

Big Bird isn't too sure how to answer so he asks Telly a series of questions, only to relay Telly's answers back to him. Telly "learns" that his arm is healing (according to his doctor), it itches sometimes, and it likes to pretend to be an airplane rather than stay still.

Colambo then asks what he should do about the lost sheep, and Big Bird suggests he leave them alone (as the nursery rhyme says). Right then and there, the sheep pass by and assume Bo Peep probably hired a detective agency to find them.
SCENE 3 cont'd |
Colambo briefly leaves to tell "the missus" before returning to ask Big Bird what today's sponsors were, which Big Bird readily knows; what he doesn't know is why Colambo keeps leaving and coming back to ask so many questions. The credits follow. |
