Thadeus MacDonald was a 23rd century Human man who served as co-administrator for the colony on Sheridan's World.

Biography[]

MacDonald was born in the mid-2220s on Zwaalan, a non-aligned agricultural planet in the Triangle sector.

He attended Starfleet Academy, where he gained authoritative levels of training in leadership and Human psychology. He took intensive studies in Klingon psychology, negotiation, astrogation, unarmed combat, marksmanship, Federation history, and small equipment systems technology. He also became qualified in administration, chess, instruction, ecology, geology, planetary survival, Klingon history, and transporter operations. He saw battle during the Four Years War.

Prior to the Federation-Klingon War of 2267, he transferred to Starfleet's colonial division. He earned a Starfleet Medal of Valor for rescuing a marooned survey team of Klingons in the Triangle. One of the team members was science officer Kbarra sutai-Pallara with whom he regularly associated. Shortly afterward, he retired from Starfleet. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)

In 2268, on reference stardate 2/09, MacDonald was asked to serve as co-director along with Kexor sutai-Pallara of a new Human/Klingon colony on Sheridan's World. (FASA RPG modules: Conflict of Interests, Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)

In the city of Continuity, he was unexpectedly reunited with Kbarra, and within a year they married. A year later, they had a daughter, Ksanna, the first child born in the colony. Several years after settling, successive crop failure disasters led to MacDonald and Kexor assuming roles as co-monarchs. MacDonald was described as disciplining sternly, though with patience and insight. He was devoted to the colony, believing earnestly that its people could live together harmoniously.

In 2283, when he was 61 years old, delegates from the Federation and Klingon Empire visited Sheridan's World at the behest of the Organians to take a citizen's vote that would decide the colony's future. MacDonald and Kexor provided them with quarters for the duration of their visit. On the seventh day after their arrival, MacDonald and Kexor addressed the citizens in Continuity's amphitheater, both supporting the continued neutrality of Sheridan's World. Afterward, they presided over the voting.

As for his own vote, if forced to choose an alliance, MacDonald was slightly more likely to desire the colony go under Federation control rather than join the Klingon Empire. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)

Background[]

MacDonald's biography listed him as 61 years old, but the colony's census data misreported his age as 48 and cited a different rating for his skill in negotiation, 57 vs. 47.
