For other uses, see Beowulf.

Beowulf was an example of epic literature originating on Earth. The story takes place in Denmark and Sweden, and describes the siege of King Hrothgar's land by the monster Grendel. The tale follows the hero Prince Beowulf as he conquers all manner of beasts. Beowulf is a favorite holodeck program of both The Doctor and Harry Kim. (VOY episode: "Heroes and Demons"; VOY comic: "Repercussions"; ST reference: Star Trek Cookbook)
