• Captain Daniel C. Roper served as the USS Enterprise's 13th CO, and Lt. j.g. Howard Marshall was the ship's secretary.^[6]

• Khan Noonien Singh launches the Morning Star, a nuclear rocket armed with technology to bring down the ozone layer.^[2]

• Khan addresses representatives from south-east Asia countries, trying to convince them that he is to rule over them.^[2]

17 September

• According to the accounts of Khan, The Augment Council launched nuclear weapons at Washington, DC and Moscow and announced their control.^[8]
