Katsuhiko is the president of Karukozaka High School's computer club. When the school is sent to the Expanse, he tries to contact the outside world by using the internet only to find a copy of the Demon Summoning Program uploaded into the school's network. When Katsuhiko runs the program, a Preta is summoned and tries to kill him. Katsuhiko is then saved by Tamaki Uchida and he gives her a copy of the Demon Summoning Program as thanks, which Tamaki would later install on her COMP.

Katsuhiko can be found inside the computer lab for most of the game, telling Tamaki to take care in her journey. Katsuhiko will disappear from the school during the World of Sloth incident and after completing the World of Greed. In Yumi and Reiko's routes, he and the other students return to the human world at the end of the game. In Charlie and Akira's routes he remains trapped in the Expanse forever alongside the school.

At the beginning of the game, the player can find a broken floppy disk on the school's second floor. Katsuhiko will then attempt to repair the data inside the disk and will achieve success when the player reaches level 21. Inside the disk was a Cerberus who is angry over being trapped inside the disk. Tamaki can then challenge the Cerberus to a fight and he'll join the party out of respect for Tamaki's strength after being defeated. This sidequest requires Katsuhiko's presence at the computer lab, meaning it'll be suspended when he's being held captive in the World of Sloth and become unavailable after completing the World of Greed.

Etymology[]

• The name Katsuhiko means "victory" (勝) (katsu) and "boy, prince" (彦) (hiko).
• Katsuhiko's surname Sato means "help, aid" (佐) (sa) and "wisteria" (藤) (to).

Trivia[]

• According to one of the students, Katsuhiko is the smartest person in Karukozaka High School after Ideo Hazama.
• He is named after the Japanese astrophysicist Katsuhiko Sato.
