Slimer, known as "Jellime" (ジェライム,Jeraimu) in Japan, is a slime virus from Mega Man Battle Network 3. It hops into either one of the four directions, one panel at a time, towards its target and changes the color of each panel that it hits to its own color, stealing those panel. Once it reaches an obstacle or the last remaining column of the player's area, it will hop around its own area, attempting to relocate and hop onto the player. This virus deals damage by jumping onto its target and then back to the panel it originally jumped from to deliver the attack.
Metal Gel, known as Steal Jelly (スチールゼリー,Suchīru Zerī) in Japan, is the Battle Chip from Slimer viruses. It is, ostensibly, an offensively oriented Area Grab. When used, screen dims, and three Slimers (Or latter stages of the virus, depending on the chip used) will drop onto the column closest to the player's side of the field, stealing those panels. If a virus or a NetNavi is standing on that column, the Slimey will damage the opponent, but it will not steal the panel, regardless of whether or not the target was destroyed.

Trivia[]
The English chip name, Metal Gel, is a mistranslation of its Japanese name, Steal Jelly. Perhaps interpreting Steal as "Steel" instead of following its sister chip's name, "Area Grab", Area Steal in Japan. The Steal name connects the chips to the same theme.
