The Bonne family (ボーン一家 Bōn ikka), better known as Bone[1] or Born[2] in some Japanese sources, is a family of air pirates in the Mega Man Legends series. The Bonnes are a refined family who does not like to get their hands dirty by going on a digout on ancient ruins, so they act dirty by stealing from Diggers and others to keep a luxurious life. However, if a treasure is rumored to be very valuable, such as Diana's Tear and the Mother Lode, they will go down in ruins to claim them first. Their commander, Teisel, does not like to skimp on money, believing that the better their machines, the better the treasures they can obtain, using all the money they steal on the development of their machines to improve their performance. They also need a lot of money to feed the Servbots.
Despite being proud air pirates, the Bonnes have principles,[3] disliking the ways of the Loath family, helping Denise keep her job after she failed to stop them, and assisting MegaMan Volnutt in critical moments in the Main Gate and in the Sulphur-Bottom. They also tried more honest methods of obtaining money, but those usually do not work well for them. After getting the giant Refractor in the end of Mega Man Legends, the Bonne family opened a department store, but they got on the red after some time due to Teisel wasting all the money only on things he liked, forcing them to return to piracy in Mega Man Legends 2 and become part of the Air Pirate Alliance to save the department store,[4] but they ended up losing more money after being stopped by MegaMan. In the end of Mega Man Legends 2 they make an alliance with the Caskett family to help build a rocket to rescue MegaMan.

Trivia[]
- The Bonne family was based on the trio of villains from the Time Bokan series.[5]
- Most of the Bonnes' machines would follow a German naming theme.
- The Bonne's symbol is based on the Jolly Roger, the pirate flag with skull and crossbones.
- According to Teisel in the ending of The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, their mother had passed away. The fate of their father has never been mentioned. Both parents have only been seen in a painting along with a younger Teisel. At that time, their mother was pregnant with Tron.[6]
- In the Mega Man Battle Network series, there are TV shows titled "The Bonne Bunch" in the Mega Man Battle Network, "Go Bonne, Go!" in Mega Man Battle Network 2, and "Family Bonne" (misspelled as "Family Boone") in Mega Man Battle Network 3 White Version (replaced by "The Kasket Kids" in the Blue Version). Presumably this is the origin of the Servbot dolls seen in the series, as well as the Data doll, which is referred to as the Servbots' rival, and others objects like toys, carpets and posters.
- Tron and the Servbots, specially the latter, have more appearances in games than series protagonist MegaMan Volnutt, having their very own spin-off title as well as both appearing in a number of Capcom crossovers, such as the Marvel vs. Capcom series of fighting games and Project X Zone.
- Coincidentally, there are two outlaws known as Bonnie and Clyde, which is similar to the names Bonne and Glyde.
