Synopsis for "Earth Give Up Your Dead: Part 2 of 3"

Three hours ago: Proteus, possessing Blindfold, taunts Rogue and Destiny, saying that his is an essence that can never die. The X-Men rush in and confront Proteus, but his vast reality-warping powers quickly prove to be too much for them. Proteus disables Psylocke and turns the iron in Magneto’s blood to lead. He then sends Colossus skyrocketing out of the lab, and with a flick of Blindfold’s wrist, causes the rest of the team except Rogue and Nightcrawler to vanish in a burst of light. Nightcrawler hits Blindfold with a flurry of strikes, but Proteus discovers he can possess multiple people at once and takes hold of Kurt as well as Ruth. In desperation, Rogue touches Nightcrawler to absorb his power and teleports away.

Now: Psylocke, Magneto, Trance, and Husk are huddled at the edge of a cliff. Magneto is gravely injured and struggles to speak. Psylocke watches the purple signature of Nightcrawler’s teleportation approaching from a distance and tells him telepathically to join them. However, it’s Rogue, not Nightcrawler, that BAMFs in front of them. Rogue tells them Kurt is dead, having been possessed by Proteus.

The group agrees they need to make their way to the Blackbird and get word to Cyclops. Magneto asks Psylocke if she learned anything psychically from Proteus. Betsy says he simply wants to live and to consume, and that his return is likely just a byproduct of Selene’s plans. Despite Magneto’s injuries, Rogue teleports them all towards the Blackbird.

After BAMFing into a clearing, Rogue sends Trance to conduct recon and Husk presses Psylocke on what she saw in Proteus’ mind. Psylocke theorizes that Proteus had merely dispersed his energy when he seemed to die years ago, and that when Destiny was resurrected, some of his energy attached to her and returned him from death. He then manipulated Destiny into bringing the X-Men to Muir Island so that he could have enough hosts to be fully reborn.

The group reaches the Blackbird and finds it a wreck thanks to Colossus’ unconscious body having landed directly on top of the jet. Suddenly, Proteus - possessing Nightcrawler, Blindfold, and Destiny simultaneously - approaches. He quickly overwhelms them and takes over Psylocke, Husk, and Trance as well. Magneto uses Colossus’ metal body against the hosts, buying Rogue time to absorb Psylocke’s power and stab Trance with a psychic knife that damages Proteus within her. Proteus uses Nightcrawler to knock Rogue out, but Magneto is able to separate Blindfold from the rest. The Master of Magnetism then uses his power to dislodge the chunk of earth the two of them are standing on and hurls it straight into the air.

Solicit Synopsis

“NECROSHA”

A classic X-Villain hitched a ride on Destiny’s body when Selene brought her back from the dead. But this villain doesn’t want to be part of the Black Queen’s master plan. He’s got his own agenda. So it’s up to Rogue, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, Husk, Blindfold and MAGNETO (what? You haven’t been reading UNCANNY X-MEN?!?!) to take this villain down. Part 2 (of 3)
