Carl saves Lucius from drowning and Lucius makes a voodoo doll of Carl to present as a gift. Carl is told not to part with the doll but when his paintings don't sell Carl offers the doll to a smuggler. Carl begins to experience visions of various locations the smuggler is bringing the doll to and Carl resolves to track him down and retrieve the doll. Carl eventually manages to catch the smuggler just as the doll is in danger of being destroyed in a fire.
