The SS Brass is a location in Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix.

Description[]

The SS Brass is a wooden airship with turbines resembling either a trumpet, a trombone, or a french horn, depending on the player's progress. The airship has the capabilities to be driven underwater like a submarine.

In Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix[]

The SS Brass is used by Mario (or Luigi) and Toad as a means of transportation around the Mushroom Kingdom on their journey to collect the Music Keys, and commonly appears during the story mode cutscenes, as the characters travel between locations. After the player defeats the pirate Lakitu during "Fishing Frenzy," the SS Brass's turbines change from being trumpet-like to either trombone-like or French horn-like, depending on the level.

The SS Brass is shown during certain songs, such as "In the Whirlpool" and "Step by Step," where its underwater capabilities are shown. The song "Always Smiling" also takes place on the SS Brass. During these three songs, Mario is seen taking control of the ship's wheel.

There is an unlockable minigame titled Fire Up the SS Brass, in which the object is to maneuver the SS Brass through tunnels.
