Kongo Beat is Donkey Kong's Final Smash that appears in the games Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U. This move is a reference to Donkey Kong's Bongo Blast technique from Donkey Kong 64 and the name from Donkey Kong: Kongo Beat.

Effects[]

When Kongo Beat is used, Donkey Kong takes out his bongos and the announcer will say "Go!" when it's time to play. The player must press the A button in rhythm in order to make the attack stronger and have better range. In Brawl, the player must listen carefully to the song in order to time the button presses. In SSB4, there is now a meter that the player can press to making Kongo Beat easier to use. When perfectly used, Kongo Beat can take up great range on small stages such as Final Destination. However, it is fairly useless on large stages like New Pork City or Hyrule Temple where the opponents have enough room to escape from the range (unless they're played on Omega stages in SSB4).
