Nolan Booth is the villainous deutratagonist of the 2021 Netflix film, Red Notice. He is a thief who helps John Hartley in obtaining Cleopatra's eggs.

He is portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, who also played Clint Briggs from Spirited.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

  • He is a very skilled thief and is often referred to as the second best art thief for that reason. He’s so good, he can steal a valuable object from a museum and replace it with a fake without anyone noticing.
  • He is a skilled escapist and has escaped from every prison he’s been in.
  • He is highly intelligent and has managed to find ways to accomplish many goals simply by talking, such as starting a riot to get back at John for arresting him and to steal a id card from the guards.
  • He is a very skilled pilot, even maneuvering rpgs in the air.
  • He is very charming, even in big missions.
  • He is very comedic, often telling one-liners and jokes to lighten the mood or to distract enemies.
  • Although he enjoys taunting him, Nolan does end up seeing John as a friend and was concerned when John was injured.
  • He has an honorable side, as he helped John and Sarah escape the police for letting him live and because he still viewed them as friends.
  • Unlike John (who will attack others if needed), almost all of Nolan’s crimes are non lethal and he never shows a lethal side.
  • He is tragic, being neglected by his father for a crime he didn’t commit and when his father learned he was innocent, he refused to apologize and sent Nolan to a boarding school. Nolan later learned that his father was hypocritically planning to steal valuable treasures and decided to steal them as an act of payback.
  • When betrayed by John and Sarah, he handles the defeat well, even congratulating them before looking for a way out of trouble (which he does).
  • Locates John and Sarah and blocks their bank account before calmly convincing them to help with his newest scheme.
  • Although he shows moments of incompetence or clumsiness, most of these are mistakes that he acknowledges and he rarely makes the same mistake twice, while others are an act to trick enemies.
  • In the end, he manages to escape the law and continues to plan and carry out complicated heists with John and Sarah as his partners.
