Commander Dot Pixis is a supporting character in the anime/manga series Attack on Titan. He is the eccentric highest ranking commander of the Garrison and the Chief Official of the Southern Territories of the Walls of Paradis Island who does what he can to fulfill his objective of protecting humanity as much as possible, sometimes even going to extreme measures to do so.

He was voiced by Masahiko Tanaka in the Japanese sub and by R. Bruce Elliott in the English dub.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

• He stops Captain Woerman from firing at Eren, Armin, and Mikasa when he was paranoid of Eren due to his reveal of having Titan powers, being willing to hear Eren, Armin, and Mikasa out.
• He has some humorous moments due to his eccentric personality like commenting on how being eaten by a titan wouldn't be so bad if it was a sexy lady one,
• He subtly encourages Eren Yeager into sealing up the hole in the wall with a boulder in Titan form by asking him if he's willing to do it with Eren responding by saying that while he doesn't know if he can, he'll do it regardless before has him make the attempt while assigning the cadets to defend Eren as he carries the boulder to seal the hole with Eren successfully doing so.
• He allows the cadets to leave by declaring that anyone wishing to leave will not be personally charged by him with treason.
• He manages to stop a mutiny from happening in Trost.
• He often gives encouraging speeches to the troops to inspire them to complete whatever task he assigns them in battles.
• He sets up a test to see how the Royal Government would respond to a situation where the citizens of Wall Rose are in danger by having a troop trick them into thinking Wall Rose has been breached in a false alarm where Dot Pixis would afterwards pretend to order an evacuation route to be made for the citizens into Wall Sina. This effectively winds up exposing their true colors with Aurille instead ordering all the gates to be closed to let everyone in Wall Rose die to the supposed Titans that have been breached, leading to a coup d'etat Dot Pixis has masterminded with Erwin against them where they are overthrown and jailed.
• He refuses the offer made by the soldiers in court to keep the fact that Titans were really humans secret as well as the Subjects of Ymir, being disgusted by the idea of keeping the truth from them.
• After Floch has been placed in charge of looking after Yelana, during the festivities, knowing that Floch was charged with divulging military secrets, Pixis thought to check and discovers that Yelana's lodgings were just a few dozen kilometers from Eren Yeager's. Knowing that Eren was taking more unauthorized actions around then, he interrogates Yelana and figures out she's been talking to Eren prior to when realized, that she had a bit of a role to play in him attacking the Marleyan government, that they wanted Eren to crush Marley into dust per their morals, and that their intent is for Eren and Zeke to reshape the whole world.
• To make sure she's not lying, he has Yelana recount everything she and Eren talked about while giving a word of advice about telling a lie that in order to make it good, she needs to at least mix in a pinch of the truth.
• He comes up with an idea to surrender to the Yeagerists, knowing that they have no other recourse against enemies within their ranks as even if they did somehow manage to smoke all of them out, they'd have to spill a lot of blood, which they don't have the time or the numbers to waste such folly on. He does, however, reveal that he doesn't intend on surrendering entirely as he plans on having them use Zeke's location to negotiate with Eren and trust him to accept that he has other enemies as once they've re-established peace, they'll stake Eldia's survival on a test-run of the Rumbling.
• He has Shiganshina be evacuated upon learning that he and the soldiers have drank wine tainted with spinal fluid so that the citizens wouldn't be killed once the were turned into Titans.
• Knowing that there isn't enough ODM gear to get every troop equipped, he orders all soldiers without black armbands to be outfitted while having those who drank the wine tainted with Zeke's spinal fluid go with him to drive the invaders of Paradis back.
• He takes the soldiers who drank the tainted wine with him to the front line so that once they do turn into Titans, they'll contribute to fighting back against the invaders of Paradis by devouring them.
• He accepts his fate of being turned into a Titan, managing to calm down instantly seconds before being turned into one with all the other soldiers by Zeke.

What Makes Him A Baddie?[]

• He is willing to sacrifice the lives of countless soldiers to defeat the Titans with lots of them being devoured by them to ensure mankind's survival, even at one point refusing requests by other soldiers to revert back to defending the gate and order a retreat to keep them going on the task.
• He is willing to let Erwin Smith be executed for crimes he didn't commit and was framed for by the government of Wall Sina if said government proved to be capable of protecting humanity.
• He allowed Dalius Zachary to take the government members for himself as captives, leading to them being subjected to urinal torture by him as punishment for their actions and to interrogate them.
