Captain Marvelous

Captain Marvelous is the leader of the Gokaigers and one of the main protagonists of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

What Makes Him Magnificent?[]

After the Red Pirate Gang was broken up and the Ranger Keys were scattered when Basco betrayed the gang, Marvelous formed the Gokaigers to gather all the Ranger Keys and obtain the Greater Powers of each Sentai team.
Recruited Joe, Luka, Don, Ahim and later Gai into the Gokaigers after eyeing potential and talent in each of them.
Leads his team in numerous successful battles against the Zangyack Empire, but always denies being a "hero" whenever called one.
Great at coming up with strategies on the fly. Once formulated a successful plan in less than a minute to free his teammates from Basco and recover all the Ranger Keys he stole.
Genuinely cares about his crew and is willing to put his life on the line for their safety.
Along with his crew, Marvelous gradually becomes more and more heroic through collecting the Greater Powers from each Sentai team and learning about heroism from each of them.
Upon gathering all of the Greater Powers and obtaining the Greatest Treasure in the Universe, Marvelous learns it will erase the powers of each Sentai team if used and destroys the treasure instead.
When a massive Zangyack invasion fleet comes to Earth with the intention of conquering it and wiping out humanity, Marvelous chooses to defend humanity and leads his crew in fighting the Zangyack in a final battle.

Didn't care about saving Earth at first and only wanted the Greater Powers so he could obtain the Greatest Treasure for his own self-interest. He even fought the Goseigers for their Greater Powers. This wanes as the series goes on however and he ends it as more-or-less a hero.
