Akiko Houjoh (北条アキコ Akiko Houjoh) is the executive producer of the "Akiko Lips", a recording label seen in the Macross 7 television series. Her company took charge of Fire Bomber's recording, promotion and live event production after Sweet Velvet Music Productions' director Honey Suzuki rejected them. Her age was never disclosed.
History[]
She was born on North Château Residential Area on the Moon's surface, and led a privileged life. She was the first to recognize Basara Nekki's potential after listening to his single. She came under the possession of the Protodeviln, Sivil, and ran amuck in the city. She became quite unhinged, coming on to both Ray Lovelock and Basara Nekki. After that incident, she went on to help produce many of Fire Bomber's concerts and albums. She was originally in love with Ray's best friend, Stephan, before he was killed in action.

- Akiko's lover who was killed in action during a sortie as part of the Pink Pecker squad alongside Ray.

- Akiko actually harbored feelings for him a long time ago, but Ray seemed disinterested, insisting that she should go for Stephan instead. Years later after Stephan's demise and when Akiko's company started handling Fire Bomber's promotion, the two started talking on a regular basis again. Though they have playful exchanges on occasion, there was no hint of their relationship going beyond platonic. She openly envies Ray's energy, observing that he seems younger than before ever since he became a musician.
- Honey Suzuki
- Director of a rival recording company. Akiko cannot stand Suzuki's penchant for imposing on the style of their artists based on what he (mistakenly) believes will make the top of charts. That's why she made Akiko Lips the polar opposite of Sweet Velvet by taking risks on up-and-coming talents with raw potential to become hitmakers.

- According to character designer Haruhiko Mikimoto in "THIS IS ANIMATION SPECIAL: Macross 7" Volume 60, Akiko's appearance as a slender woman wearing shades was an initial design originally intended for Veffidas Feaze.
- Akiko also shares the same voice actress as Veffidas.
- A Macross 7 Plus short entitled "Ray & Akiko & Stephan &…" shows the three in their younger days, vacationing at a log cabin in the countryside. Stephan took a nap inside the cabin while the two lounge outside. As they watch the sunset, Akiko reveals to Ray that Stephan proposed to her, but wanted to hear what Ray has to say about it. Ray insists that Stephan would be a good match for her as opposed to a hothead like himself. In the end, Akiko went with Stephan because he was honest with his feelings, unlike Ray.
