ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:04, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:KPXJ logo 2013.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:30, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Breakfast television, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ITV.

Request reason:

I have been a contributor to Wikipedia for 20 years this coming June, and this is the first instance where I’ve been suspended from editing for any cause. Prior to now, I’ve never been cited for any infractions. The main issue cited for this block is a lack of responsiveness on editing concerns. I don’t receive many notifications about editing issues, although some of this is related to not checking as often as I should, though most posts aren’t related to such matters, and avoiding potential conflicts with other users; it is not intentional ghosting as Sami and Nathan stated.

The editors in question have had issues with my particular writing style for a while, for what they deem “overburdening” articles (as noted by Sammi when she reverted overhauls of Little Rock station articles I had published in February 2022), an issue that’s led me to pull back on editing articles on local TV stations (especially those which they have overhauled since), since I put lots of man hours into the articles I edit and want to make them as comprehensive as possible. On the stylistic issues mentioned, I’m not sure how to strike a balance that meets my own standards and those of other editors without eliminating comprehensiveness.

I don’t like getting into discussions that could lead to disputes, especially due to a fear of, ironically, the type of actions undertaken here (such as suspension or termination of my account). That’s why, other than addressing certain formatting concerns (like improper Wiki article backlinking that triggers disambiguation notices) through minor edit corrections, I usually have difficulty responding to other users on these matters. I’ll try to respond more on user comments, though it’s a matter of receiving them, as time is also partly an issue.

Aside: the last time Sammi has commented on my talk page was in February 2022, regarding my writing style, and no other editors have commented on the user page regarding my editing style in the time since (not counting reverted edits). The majority of talk page posts since 2021 have related to image/page deletions or discussion requests unrelated to the issues that led to the block. Accept reason:

As you have now responded and are communicating, and the language at ANI indicated this would be immediately lifted when you did so, I am unblocking this account., I would strongly suggest you continue participating in that discussion and be more mindful of communicating in the future.
