Peter Steele's real name
I am in touch with Peter's niece who thanked me for restoring his real name, Peter, on his Wikipedia page. I cannot believe you keep reverting it to a made up name. Do you not believe he was born Peter? Space Rodeo (talk) 01:20, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Space Rodeo: Wikipedia isn't really about personal beliefs but about proper sourcing. See these two relevant pages on Wikipedia policies and guidelines: Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
- The name that is currently in the article is backed by a book reference which seems reliable enough. You changed the name without citing a reliable source. If you want the name changed you will have to cite one that supports the name. Robby.is.on (talk) 07:22, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
I did and I cited the website run by his family, as per their instructions. Not sure how that isn't reliable. His birth name is not a personally-held belief. Unfortunately semi-obscure rock stars don't tend to always have reliable information about their birth. They do sometimes do have poorly researched books written about them. He was a singer not a historical figure. I'm guessing you're a Wikipedia hobbyist and not a fan of this band, yes? Space Rodeo (talk) 09:13, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Space Rodeo: Oh, right, sorry, I missed that. Apparently, @Gargaj: removed the website reference (link) with an explanation in the edit summary why it is not reliable citation: "citation is a copy of wikipedia". This action is backed by WP:CIRCULAR which states: "Also, do not use websites that mirror Wikipedia content or publications that rely on material from Wikipedia as sources. Content from a Wikipedia article is not considered reliable unless it is backed up by citing reliable sources. Confirm that these sources support the content, then use them directly."
Unfortunately semi-obscure rock stars don't tend to always have reliable information about their birth.
I agree that is a problem. It's one we frequently face here on Wikipedia. Unfortunately, the book seems to be the best source we have right now (?).I'm guessing you're a Wikipedia hobbyist and not a fan of this band, yes?
Correct. I just happened to notice your post here because I had FMSky's Talk page on my watchlist from when I posted here myself in April. I had not heard about Peter Steele before, all I knew was that a band called "Type O Negative" existed. Robby.is.on (talk) 09:34, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Justin Bieber: Public Image Section - YouTube and Twitter Subsection
Hey there, I'm Beemer03. I was reviewing Justin Bieber's YouTube and Twitter Subsection and noticed that you re-added the following information:
Six of Bieber's music videos (more than any other artist) listed in the top 40 most disliked videos on YouTube.< ref >"Justin Bieber video is most complained about of all time on YouTube". The Daily Telegraph. London.< /ref >
My question is whether this information is actually necessary. He may have charted six videos on that list many years ago, but that is no longer true. Statistically this is incorrect because in the List of most-disliked YouTube videos, he only has one in the top 50. Kindly revert this. You can let me know what you think on my talk page. Thanks.

Justin Bieber: Home Page
Hey, I was reviewing Justin Bieber's Home Page and noticed that you deleted the portion "Often referred to as the "Prince of Pop" from the first paragraph. Media companies globally have given him this reference since 2012. If you go to "Honorific nicknames in popular music", you will find it there as well. Additionally, I gave a Billboard article citation that talks about this. Kindly revert this. You can let me know what you think on my talk page. Thanks.

Justin Bieber
Hi, I understand that several people had opposing point of views for the portion of text you deleted. This title is not given to him by me, but rather by music consumers globally and it is exactly why it is given in the "Honorific nicknames in popular music" page. As an editor, I am simply allowing it to be recognised and that is my responsibility. It is my responsibility to ensure that readers are exposed to the latest information. I evidenced the statement with two valid citations, both of which imply that he has achieved artistic recognition for his work. If it is all the same with you, I can create a clause in the Edit Source Section to put this in writing. It is very straightforward and nothing over-the-top. It is just an honorary title. I hope you understand. You can let me know what you think on my talk page. Thanks.

Your recent edits
I'm letting you know now before formally warning you that your edits are disruptive. You cannot remove something that is clearly supported by the article as you did on Dr Dre and Eminem. The infobox is for all fame related occupations. The article lead is for most notable career occupations. For example, Dr Dre has appeared in several character roles as an actor. This fits the qualifications for the info box. Furthermore in regards to the Tyga page for example, any artist who writes some portion of their own lyrical material is clearly a singer-songwriter by very definition of the page. For you to revert singer-songwriter into singer and songwriter separately, with the explanation that they are not singer-songwriters, makes absolutely no sense. I believe your edits are just you being misinformed and not that you are actually attempting to vandalize, so I'll tell you now to stop doing it. If you do it again you will be formally warned and reported to the admins board. If you have an issue with the edits, take it to the talk page for consensus but as of now what I have in place is supported by everything in the article(s). ChicagoWikiEditor (talk) 00:51, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- @ChicagoWikiEditor: read the definition of singer-songwriter for fucks sake. it requires someone to play instruments in addition to writing their own songs. I will therefore continue to revert suchs edits of you FMSky (talk) 07:33, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- "Singer-songwriters often provide the sole accompaniment to an entire composition or song, typically using a guitar or piano." FMSky (talk) 07:37, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
- @FMSky: See you at the admins board. Read the "Multi-tasking songwriters" section of the songwriters article, and cross reference that with what I told you about how separating the labels implies the artist writes music for others. Also educate yourself on the word "typically". Cheers. Please do continue to revert my edits. Good luck with that, walking down my history and changing article supported information. Houston’s voice
We need at least one adjective to describe the singer's voice, as well as explain why her vocal performance is influential. “Soulful” with a popular gospel singer like Whitney is nowhere near “peacock”. Other vocalists they have dozens of praise adjectives on the opening. Phạm Huy Thông (talk) 17:47, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, SOUL is "music that arose out of the black experience in America through the transmutation of GOSPEL and RHYTHM AND BLUES into a form of funky, secular testifying."...characteristics are a call and response between the soloist and the chorus, and an especially tense vocal sound. The style also occasionally uses improvisational additions, twirls and auxiliary sounds Phạm Huy Thông (talk) 18:13, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
Trisha Paytas lead
Hello, in order to avoid an edit-war, I'm writing you here. I reinstated the "lead too long" template because the lead was still 1/5 of the written text of the entire article body, obviously still too long. I explained this in my edit summary but you proceeded to revert without addressing my argument.
Regarding the situation now, I obviously didn't delete the "whole lead." There was clear undue emphasis on parts of their pre-YouTuber career, as well as their podcasts, all things they are not primarily known for, hence undue for a lead section. I strongly believe that my version is a clear improvement as it is much more in line with WP:LEAD and should be reinstated. Throast (talk | contribs) 14:23, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- yes, but your ultra-short lead imo lacks the necessary context, eg too much emphasis on her working as a stripper/model. so its better imo to have a slightly too long lead instead of one that leaves out information --FMSky (talk) 14:32, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- If you argue that the lead shouldn't "leave out information," then the lead becomes pointless. A lead concisely summarizes the most important points of an article and hence, by definition, leaves out information. My version is not "ultra-short," it's entirely appropriate for the length of the article. Listing artists they've done music videos for or listing their non-notable podcasts and second channel just doesn't seem due for the article's lead section. I don't understand how one can argue against that. Throast (talk | contribs) 14:40, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

List of players with more than 500 goals
I'm trying to make the article "to be written" . When information with are to many and contraversial, this makes it "not to be written" but just see the numbers. As it is written know, it reduces the purpose of the lists. Some of the references are good, some not and some are simply rubbish as the one of El Pais was that I deleted (fake and not updated information that one certain person can't understand). You obviously don't know my knowledge as you are not obliged to know. But now you know how to act. First see, and then decide as you did know. You can also write to me. Thanks. Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Hi FMSky. I noticed that you deleted the sentence "Bieber's versatile cross-genre approach towards music and showmanship have received widespread recognition." Many artist pages exclude references for opening statements, therefore the reference given to support it was out of formality. Polanski letter thing
Hello FMSky, I wanted to give you a heads-up about a situation involving a user adding undue content regarding Roman Polanski at a few dozen biographical articles a couple days ago. See User talk:Abbyjjjj96#August 2021 for details. Based on a cursory glance at your contributions, you appear to be just a passerby, doing an AWB run or something similar, targeting a lot of different articles, some of which happen to coincide with the ones changed by AbbyJ. The reason for the heads-up, is that I suspect Abby's changes may need to be reverted en masse, and any further changes to those articles can make that more difficult. So, this is just a request to avoid other articles on Abby's list in your run, if that's even possible; it might make repairing the bios easier, if Abby's version is the most recent and it needs to be undone. If not, sorry for the bother and have a nice day. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 23:51, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

I am editing this page since I am having a hard time trying to talk but I am not trying to harm the site I am trying to correct mistakes It is just hard for me to understand the rules correctly neither did The Jazz Fool (1929) or Mickey's Steam Roller (1934) use the Minnie's Yoo-Hoo theme The Jazz Fool uses a diffrent opening theme soundtrack while Minnie's-Yoo-Hoo is only used on the reuse on Mickey's Steam Roller and Mickey's voice in Mickey's Follies was Walt Disney and Hardaway's first peformance as Woody was The Barber Of Seville (1944) and his last peformace as Woody was Drooler's Delight (1949)

Cristiano Ronaldo
Hi FMSky - how are my edits nonsense? The date range article you linked to says two consecutive years can be abbreviated as 2010–11 or 2017–18 etc. Also, we abbreviate all consecutive date ranges for football seasons and competitions, i.e. 2007–08 Manchester United F.C. season or 2020–21 EFL Cup so why would that change for Ronaldo's article when the sections that I am editing are about specific seasons? Rupert1904 (talk) 13:49, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
- yes but it also says, "non-abbreviated years are generally preferred"-- FMSky (talk) 15:39, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
- So my edits are not nonsense then. No need to be aggressive and rude. And still, I am following the MOS for how years are abbreviated for football seasons and competitions. I see no reason why a section about his 2017–18 season with Real Madrid should be written as 2017–2018 as the Real Madrid article is not written as 2017–2018 Real Madrid CF season but 2017–18 Real Madrid CF season. I am being consistent. Rupert1904 (talk) 16:33, 3 November 2021 (UTC)
- the rest of the article's heading has the full date range, so if anything you're making it less consistent. I'm also not the only one who reverted you if you haven't noticed. Like the other editor said, the dates are years, not seasons
- Please read the article. The 2008–09 and 2017–18 sections are about specific seasons not years. If a change should be made, then either the multiple years should be condensed to season sections or vice versa and 2008–09 and 2017–18 should be incorporated into years so there is not a problem. You commenting on this and not being familiar with football MOS and being rude is also just super annoying and frustrating. Rupert1904 (talk) 18:38, 3 November 2021 (UTC)

Photo of Tommy Hutchison
Hello!
As I noticed your long history contributing on Wikimedia Commons, and as I am unfamiliar with image copyrights and I wouldn't wish to upload an image that will end up getting removed later (I am afraid of doing something stupid), I would like to ask for a favor, if it's feasible, and of course if it is no bother for you: I would like to add an image of Tommy Hutchison in the list of men's footballers with the most official appearances, as the outfield player with the most appearances, but I couldn't find any relative image on Wikimedia Commons, so could you upload one? By the way, you can find some good images here, i.e. close-up, solo ones in color.
In case you can't, please inform me so...
Kind regards!

- I really regret having to block you for edit warring over something as paltry as whether or not a solitary comma should be included in a list of items in a sentence. For what it's worth, I feel you are grammatically correct, and the IP should not have been inserting a final comma. But that's absolutely no excuse for such tit-for-tat editing across at least two, possibly more articles. You reported the IP to WP:AIV which was really not appropriate, and you and the IP have both been blocked for the identical short period of time to avoid further disruption to the articles. Nick Moyes (talk) 00:34, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Nick Moyes: Are you serious? The reason i reverted is to keep the article(s) consistent. The IP inserted a single serial comma into the lead but kept the rest of the article as it was, which creates and uneven style. i even said that the IP has been previously blocked for the same issue, and now i'm getting blocked without any warning? FMSky (talk) 00:41, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hello. Thanks for reaching out. Look, I am serious about edit warring, but I do try not to act unreasonably. I'm sorry if you think I am doing so, and would be happy for another administrator to unblock you if they feel I did not act fairly. And I will look into the issue further lest I have 'jumped the gun'. At Jon Huntsman Jr. I don't see any edit summaries to help an ill-informed user understand the issue, or any discussion, so the constant switching back and forth is not helpful, and edit warring works both ways. The short block on both parties was to avoid further disruption, not to punish you, or the other IP editor. As it's pretty late at night here in the UK, and I might not be able too investigate further right now, I'm happy to nip over to WP:AN and ask another admin to review and unblock you if I've over-reacted. And you may make an unblock request. I will do what I can to look further into the actions of both parties. Nick Moyes (talk) 00:55, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- I mean i did clearly write "no improvement" at Jon Huntsman Jr. (and multiple other articles) and the IP even got reverted by another user for the same issue on multiple occasions... maybe i should've written a clearer explanation but i've known this IP for a while and it just gets annoying after a while. i will check the unblock options, thanks FMSky (talk) 01:03, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

- "image_size=" is deprecated, yes, but expanding or contracting an image using |upright may be necessary in some cases. MOS:IMGSIZE states: "Where a smaller or larger image is appropriate, use |upright=scaling factor, which expands or contracts the image by a factor relative to the user's base width." and "Short, wide images often call for upright of 1 or greater; tall, narrow images may look best with upright of 1 or less."
