[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Temporarily occupied and uncontrolled territories of Ukraine a different title (ORDLO) by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
Please follow the instructions at requested moves for disputed moves if you want to move a page on controversial subjects like this. Thank you. Toddy1 (talk) 22:13, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Toddy1! I did not want to move the article, I wanted to create another page. Temporarily occupied and uncontrolled territories of Ukraine is about all occupied territories of Ukraine, including Crimea. ORDLO (or maybe the article should be named differently) is only about Donbass (see interwiki [1]). Can you revert your redirect? If you want to edit the text, feel free to do it. --DustP (talk) 10:09, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
- But it was not a new article. It was a trimmed down version of the other article (I checked using a document comparison tool). (See Wikipedia:Content forking.)
- I think the article you seek to create already exists in the form of Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone (Ukraine). Would you be willing to contribute to that? When I say "contribute" I do not mean cut and paste material from one article to another. I mean do real work, looking at sources such as books and newspaper articles and adding information from them to articles. Toddy1 (talk) 11:41, 21 March 2020 (UTC)
