October 2024
[edit]Hello. Regarding this edit, I just wanted to ask why do you think "it's not really important anyway"? I also wanted to note that the Manchester Evening News source already supports the claim. In my opinion, adding it would make it clear that he didn't die during the time between falling and emergency services arriving at his body, he died immediately after falling. What do you think? - I just don't think it's necessary. He died after falling - that's good and succinct enough. Also, I'm always cautious of any use of "scare" quotes which the Manchester sources uses. They are often used to change the meaning of the statement, suggesting that something may not actually be "true". See MOS:SCAREQUOTES - and although I accept that this refers to Wikipedia and not to an external publication such as the Manchester Evening News, the principle holds true. - Manchester Evening News was referencing Alberto Crescenti's statement; "Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death". So he died immediately/instantly according to the director of Buenos Aires' public emergency medical service, not Manchester Evening News, I hope my thoughts are clearer now. I think we can add "immediately", as, "died immediately after falling...", or we can add Crescenti's statement to the section, as, "The emergency medical team that arrived to the hotel reported a "cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries" that led to Payne's immediate death". Let me know what you think. Medxvo (talk) 14:15, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- Update– Just made an edit and added the sentence above (the second option). Hopefully, there will be no problem with that since it is a sourced statement. Medxvo (talk) 16:44, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think it's fine now with the last sentence:
The emergency medical team that arrived at the hotel reported a "cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries" that led to Payne's immediate death.
