Herman Darman

Graduated from Intitute of Technology, Bandung, in1991 with geology degree and Aberdeen University, Scotland, in 1995 (MSc. Petroleum Geology). Herman and Prof. Dr. Yahdi Zaim have co-founded FOSI, the Indonesian Sedimentologists Forum in1995. Following his active involvement in AAPG Asia Pacific region, he became the region president from 2005 to 2008, and received an AAPG Distinguished Service Award in 2010.

Herman Darman started his career as a consulting field geologist for PT Eksindo Pratama, and involved in geological mapping onshore Kutei Basin, Kalimantan, Borneo, from 1992 to 1994. Later he joined Shell exploration and work in Southeast Asia, the Netherland and Central Asia / Former Soviet Union countries. In 2016, Herman returned to his country of origin, Indonesia, and started up a social enterprise for geoscience, called INDOGEO. In 2019, he joined PETRONAS in Kuala Lumpur up to now, while maintaining his involvement in the social enterprise. His passion on the geology of Indonesia keep him involve in several geological activities including the preparation on Wikipedia / Wikibook on the Geology of Indonesia.
