Current time

[edit]

Current UTC-5 time: 18:08

I wrote the template above, and plan to create an entire series with one for each time zone. I hope to get the major time zones done before spring daylight savings time starts unless other work intervenes.

My naming convention has been to use the best-known American city for each time zone, but when I publish the templates I'll mostly like use a scheme like this:

  • {{utc|19}} - 18:08
  • {{utc|18}} - 17:08

Much as I love America, the "UTC" prefix makes more sense for international usage. --Uncle Ed 12:53, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How does UTC relate to GMT (Grenwich Mean Time) ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.12.190.154 (talk) 10:50, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Asterisks

[edit]

Is there a point to the asterisks after the names of some countries? — Rickyrab | Talk 15:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
