Religions
[edit]Wouldn't a sizable portion of the Afrikaner immigrants belong to the Dutch Reformed/Calvinist church? Right now there is no listing of Reformed Christianity at all. 194.17.116.210 (talk) 12:58, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
History section
[edit]This section needs urgent work. Editors have included their own personal beliefs, without giving references, and we were left with unsupported sweeping statements. So, an 'Afrikaaner desire to stay put' is apparantly the historical origin of Apartheid, white emigration was not as bad 'as many people feared' (who? who thought that? what figures were expected? where was that written down? by what yardstick and when did it turn out to be not 'as bad'),the new government is apparanty racist, and we have a quote with no citation attached to it (so it might be accurate, it might be half-remembered by the person who added it, it could be from an unreliable source, it could be completely made up). This falls well below Wikiepdia standards. Indisciplined (talk) 11:20, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Article on Afrikaner-American?
[edit]I was thinking about it, and, what would people think about an article on Afrikaner-Americans? It would make more sense as they are an ethnic group just like any other American ethnic group (English, German, Italian, etc.)? I'll post this to the "Afrikaners" general article as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickeleh (talk • contribs) 04:58, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
