We are planning to make some amendments to the History section of the page. In particular, we feel it’s currently rather lengthy, and want to rewrite it without separate sections for each decade. We plan to do this next week, but welcome any feedback. Matt Lawrence of HSS.

Dear all,

I work for HSS, and have been asked to take a look at the Wikipedia page for the company. We’ve spotted several things that could be updated, and wanted to propose them, as follows. Ideally, a Wikipedia editor will see these proposals, and make changes (this is regarded as Wikipedia best practice). However, we’re mindful that someone may not want to spend their time doing this, or notice the proposals, and so we propose that we make the changes if nobody responds here in the next few days. We’re keen to be transparent and factual, but also correct items that are out of date.

The proposed changes are:

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The description of the company needs updating to reflect us being a plc, and now having a stockmarket ticker, and increases in our staff numbers. We propose:

““HSS Hire Group plc (LSE: HSS) [WITH LINK TO: http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-markets/stocks/summary/company-summary.html?fourWayKey=GB00BVFD4645GBGBXSET3 ] is a supplier of tool and equipment hire in the UK and Ireland, as well as being a logistical and technical partner to businesses of all sizes. Operating under the banner of HSS Hire, the Group has a network of over 265 outlets. HSS Hire originated in Kensington, west London in 1957. Today it employs over 2,900 workers and has a fleet of over 400 vehicles.”

OVERVIEW BOX This needs some updates: • Company name – changed to read ‘HSS Hire Group plc’ • Type – changed to read ‘Public (LSE: HSS)’ [AGAIN WITH LINK TO LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE SITE’S PAGE FOR HSS] • Key people – ‘Steve Trowbridge (CFO)’ and ‘John Gill (COO)’ to be added • Owner – to be removed, as we’re now stock-market listed. • Number of employees – to be updated to 2,900+ • The addition of a company logo, which we can supply.

Administrators,

The content on this wiki page can be verified by HSS Hire themselves, and i have been given permission by them to allow it to be published on Wikipedia.

Please bear with me while i retrieve an email address of an employee who can confirm this permission.

Regards.
