Signal Port (also, Hardscratch[1] and Signal[2]) is a former settlement in Mendocino County, California.[1] It was located near the mouth of Signal Creek 3.5 miles (5.6 km) northwest of Fish Rock,[2] at an elevation of 108 feet (33 m).[1]
The Signal post office operated for a time in 1882.[2] The Signal Port post office operated from 1888 to 1890.[2] The name refers to signals given ships waiting to load lumber at the site.[2]
