Cuterebra, or rodent bots, is a genus of bot flies that attack rodents and similar animals.
Etymology
[edit]The genus name Cuterebra is a blend of the Latin words cutis 'skin' and terebra 'borer' with apparent shortening of expected Cutiterebra to Cuterebra.
