Charlie Rasmussen Gjedde (born 28 December 1979 in Holstebro, Denmark) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark, who won the Speedway World Cup with Denmark in 2006.[1][2] He earned 11 caps for the Denmark national speedway team.[3]
Career
[edit]A former Danish Under-21 Champion, Gjedde has represented Denmark in the Speedway World Cup since 2002 and has appeared as a track reserve in the Speedway Grand Prix series three times.[4]
He first rode in Britain for Swindon Robins during the 1998 Elite League speedway season.[5] The following season in 1999, he signed for Coventry Bees on loan from Swindon.[6] In 2003, he was part of the Swindon four that won the Premier League Four-Team Championship, which was held on 27 July 2003, at the Abbey Stadium.[7]
He rode for the Belle Vue Aces in the Elite League in 2008, 2009 and 2011.[8]
In 2010, He rode for Outrup in the Danish Speedway League.[9]
