By creating your account you are now able to upload images to help Bulbapedia and Bulbanews. Before you jump in, take a look at these helpful tips:

  • Uploaded images must meet several requirements. Please see the upload form and/or manual of style before you upload a new image.
  • All images need categories and license tags. Save time and fill them out as you upload. There are many different licenses - be sure to pick the best fit.
  • Use meaningful filenames. Make them descriptive so that searchers can find your images easily.
  • Personal images are no longer allowed. Any personal images found will be deleted on sight.
  • If you don't have any images to submit, you can still help out.
  • If you have any more questions, see the FAQ or ask a staff member.
Thank you, and have a good time uploading here!

Great job!

Good work with the animated sprite uploads! What you're doing is long overdue. While scrolling through the numbers preceding your uploads, I found out that Golbat's sprite is unanimated. Just in case you hadn't noticed yet. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:00, 21 March 2021 (UTC)

Oh, and not just Golbat. There are several sprites from before Oddish that need to be animated. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:22, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
You skipped over Electabuzz's sprite. Was it by accident or on purpose? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:21, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thank you, and yes, it was done on purpose. The sprite animation on the summary screen went beyond the screen boundaries, so I had to leave it as it is until I find another method. Also, I'm prioritising each Pokémon to get at least one animation first, before doing alternate forms such as gender and shiny. --HydroSeaDragon (talk) 09:34, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Ah, that explains your upload style. Gotcha. I hope you can find solutions to those wildly moving sprites, because all that empty space really distorts templates. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:32, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Looking at Swanna's sprite from Generation V makes me think cropping off some empty space from some of your animated sprites could be perfectly okay. I'll leave the choice up to you, of course. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:58, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Animated Sprites Help

Hello! I want to help with uploading animated sprites, but I don't have Photoshop or money to get it. Is there a free alternative that I can use instead? Also, whenever I rip a sprite from the emulator (I use DeSmuME) the background is black instead of green. Is there a way to fix this? --Ratboy Jr. (talk) 21:44, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

You could try GIMP as an alternative, but I haven't used it in a while, so I'm not sure how to do it on GIMP. As for your second question, I wrote my guide based on HGSS, so now that I moved on to extracting sprites in Platinum, I encountered the same problem as you - the black background. Changing the background requires some knowledge of ROM hacking. First, I used Tinke to pinpoint the location of the summary screen in the ROM, and then a HEX editor to find said location and replace the original background data with just a pure, green background. --HydroSeaDragon (talk) 05:07, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
I tried using GIMP, but it doesn't support AVI files. Is there any other software I can use? --Ratboy Jr. (talk) 19:41, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

Awesome job!

Your uploads of animated Gen IV sprites are a pleasure to behold. However, I noticed that while you uploaded the Pt/HGSS sprites of Vibrava, you didn't upgrade the DP sprite of the same Pokémon. Was this done on purpose? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 16:12, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
