Tifa Lockhart is the childhood friend and love interest of Final Fantasy VII protagonist, Cloud Strife, as well as a member of the anti-terrorist organization, AVALANCHE, in their fight against the Shinra Corporation.
What Makes Her Love Exalted?[]
- Given that most of the characters in Final Fantasy VII are morally ambiguous, Tifa is the one of two characters who is portrayed as selfless outright and not anti-heroic with the other character being Aerith.
- Due to the horror she experienced during Nibelheim, Tifa prioritizes protecting as many lives as possible, even low-level Shinra employees.
- Helps Cloud with his trauma and saves his life on various occasions.
- Tifa shows empathy and support towards her teammates.
- Opposes the atrocities committed by the Shinra.
- Despite being done for the greater good, TIfa objected to AVALANCHE's worst actions including the bombings committed against Shinra.
- Regrets deactivating the sun lamps in Sector 4 and remarked how many of the lower level Shinra employees were just ordinary people trying to make the best lives for themselves.
- Puts herself into danger, such as when she went to Don Corneo's without asking for Barrett's help, to prevent her friends from putting themselves into danger.
- Encourage Kyle Leslie that his fiancée was still out there and gave him a pendant that symbolizes reunion.
- Helped restore Cloud's memories when he was suffering from mako overdose.
- Despite Cloud telling Tifa that he didn't want her to help during the attack on Sector 7, Tifa still helps AVALANCHE.
- Attempted to stop Shinra from destroying Sector 7.
- Understands the arguments presented by both Barrett and Cait Sith and makes peace between both of them.
- Tifa protects Marlene from Loz.
- Much like Aerith, Tifa also displays a big sister instinct towards children. Especially Marlene and Denzel.
- Is a genuine friend to Aerith even going as far as to help her with her issues and, despite Aerith being a romantic rival for Cloud's affection, Tifa never showed any jealousy towards her.
