Podcast Summary • Podcast Transcript

A transcript is a retrospective written record of dialogue, and like a script (a prospective record) may include other scene information such as props or actions. In the case of a transcript of a film or television episode, ideally it is a verbatim record. Because closed-captioning is usually written separately, its text may have errors and does not necessarily reflect the true Canonical transcript.

Transcripts for Lost episodes up to and including "Enter 77" are based on the transcriptions by Lost-TV member Spooky with aid of DVR, and at times, closed captions for clarification. She and Lost-TV have generously granted us permission to share/host these transcripts at Lostpedia. Later transcripts were created by the Lostpedia community, unless stated otherwise below.

Kris White: Sawyer kills Sawyer, Locke gets help subverting Ben's command, and Carlton reveals when Lost will be on next Season. We'll have insight on all that and more in today's Official Lost Podcast hosted by ABC.com.

[Lost title music]

Kris White: Welcome back to the Podcast, this week we're again joined by executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse to discuss last week's murderous romp, The Brig, in which we finally learned about one of the biggest crosses in Lost history. We'll have insight on all that as well as some deftly dropped hints about this coming week's episode, The Man Behind The Curtain, which airs Wednesday, May 9th from 10 til 11pm on ABC.

[Lost podcast music]

Carlton Cuse: Well good morning, Damon.

Damon Lindelof: Good morning, Carlton.

Carlton Cuse: And welcome to another Official Lost Podcast, sanctioned and authorised. I'm Carlton Cuse, and sitting to my left is Damon Lindelof with no pants, and we're here to talk about the episode The Brig and talk about next week's episode, which is called?

Damon Lindelof: The Man Behind The Curtain. And, Carlton, I have to point out that you are being very professional this morning, it might have something with we're in the ABC radio room as we record this podcast.

Carlton Cuse: We've actually been on sort of a roving podcast quest over the last few weeks, we just finished doing a morning radio tour, we're talking to morning drive people and, what, 19 different cities around the...

Damon Lindelof: We went, we went coast to coast, you know they make us wake up at 4:30 in the morning and drive over to ABC and we start with Atlanta, and basically everybody asks us much less interesting questions than you guys do, usually sort of starting with “why don't you give us any answers”...

Carlton Cuse: And finishing with “why don't you give us any answers”.

Damon Lindelof: And then, and then finally “why don't you give us any answers”.

Carlton Cuse: Right exactly.

Damon Lindelof: And they don't know that where we give the real answers is right here, on the Official Podcast.

Carlton Cuse: There's no jumping around, no denying the answers here.

Damon Lindelof: Speaking of answers, Carlton, let's talk about The Brig, which you and I wrote and er, and I think we gave a big answer last week, let's talk about that. Erm, Anthony Cooper is in fact the original Sawyer, and er I'm curious as to how long we knew that that was the case. That's a question which I think probably people are asking out there.

Carlton Cuse: Well we actually knew for a really long time, and that those two guys er that that was sort of one of the most seminal crosses in the entire series that Locke's father was in fact the same conman who was responsible for the death of Sawyer's parents. And we just kept, you know, that was something which we have kind of been percolating over for several Seasons and...

Damon Lindelof: And we felt it was fairly obvious to me, and that's one of the things that we were sort of surprised by, how so many people didn't kinda key into it. We've gotten the question and we haven't really read it, on several of our podcasts cause we didn't wanna give it away but you know the fact that Anthony Cooper was using the word “con” you know way back in the beginning of Season 2 when, you know there's an episode, I think it was 13 of Season 2 where Locke and Sawyer are trekking out and you know its the one where Friendly basically warns them off and Locke asks Sawyer why he chose the name Sawyer and, there are all sorts of things that we did to sort of set up the reveal, but er you know, kinda there it is.

Carlton Cuse: Sometimes, you know, I think we had, there were some other points for which we thought about telling the story and revealing the cross but sometimes, you know, like in other things in life, its er, its better to wait and I think by waiting we actually got much more value out of this cross and it really came at a really kind of good time in this Season and it really is going to propel a lot of er the narrative for the remainder of the Season. I mean, you know, now Locke has basically been able to accomplish the mission that Ben gave him which is don't come back without your dead father's body on your back, and at the end of the episode we saw Locke walking off with that body...

Damon Lindelof: Locke really takes things literally doesn't he?

Carlton Cuse: He really does. You wouldn't wanna say like “hey, like, go break a leg”. You know, he would probably, you know, he would go do that.

Damon Lindelof: I guess if the Others tell him that he's special, he'll do pretty much anything, which you know that's sort of another interesting scene which sort of, that bears a little bit more conversation, this guy Richard Alpert, who we've seen in the outside world, he's the one who goes off and sort of recruits Juliet and he's sort of always hanging around in the shadows there. He kind of, it looks like he's subverting Ben a little bit, he takes Locke in a pensive moment and sits down next to him and basically says “you're special John and Ben wanted to embarrass you”, he actually gives him the file, he shows him “here is how you can kill your father, without having to”, you know, “doing it yourself”. What do you think that's all about?

Carlton Cuse: I think the Others must have an incredibly massive network of private investigators [note Damon laughs at the idea] in the real world who basically come up with all this information.

Damon Lindelof: That's interesting. Or just Mikhail.

Carlton Cuse: Obviously, Alpert is kind of an Iago-esque character in that he seems to be manipulating or trying to manipulate the power structure of the Others. Would that be fair?

Damon Lindelof: Either that or he actually believes that er, that John Locke is an important sort of character in terms of the mystical aspects, its almost like he says “we've been waiting for you, John, and you're special and the idea that you were healed so instantly on an Island has healing properties” but you know, Locke was basically paralysed in one sense and then the instant he made contact with the Island and now he's suddenly kind of walking around. So erm, that might er...

Carlton Cuse: Inactivate some of the Others, and make them kind of give them pause to what this guy's role might be.

Damon Lindelof: But to quickly to switch into prehashing mode, I think we're going to see Alpert again next week. Is that true, in The Man Behind The Curtain?

Carlton Cuse: It is and I think that's a very good segue, Damon, because er, it might be that Locke walks in with his dad's body on his back and says “OK now tell me the answers”.

Damon Lindelof: And who does he say that to?

Carlton Cuse: Er Ben.

Damon Lindelof: So is it, could it be intuitive that next week we might be learning more about Ben?

Carlton Cuse: Finally, thank god!

Damon Lindelof: Can I ask you another question?

Carlton Cuse: Yes, you may.

Damon Lindelof: Is Ben the man behind the curtain?

Carlton Cuse: Ben is the man behind the curtain, maybe...

Damon Lindelof: Is there a man behind the curtain?

Carlton Cuse: ...Or maybe there's somebody else, that's not really an answer, I'm kind of dodging.

Damon Lindelof: What does that even mean, the man behind the curtain?

Carlton Cuse: Well its kind of a reference to the Wizard of Oz where you basically had this sort of ferocious and majestical, you know, er Wizard of Oz, and there was in fact this very small man behind the curtain.

Damon Lindelof: And it said “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”.

Carlton Cuse: Right.

Damon Lindelof: So.

Carlton Cuse: And so, you know, I think we have to see, I think its sort of a, its alluding to the question of who in fact is the leader of the Others, whose in charge of the Others, and how powerful are they really?

Damon Lindelof: Are we going to be learning more about this Jacob character that everybody's been alluding to?

Carlton Cuse: My god I hope so. I hope so.

Damon Lindelof: Cause seriously, I mean we're coming down to the end now, and er, if we don't hear more about Jacob or understand where he sort of fits into this whole structure...

Carlton Cuse: What are you going to do?

Damon Lindelof: I'm gonna stop watching is what I'm gonna do, Carlton. I'm gonna stop watching your show and I'm gonna start watching the Food Network.

Carlton Cuse: OK.

Damon Lindelof: Cause at least I know a meal will be prepared by the episode's end. And I'll know how that meal was made. And I'll know how I can make it myself.

Carlton Cuse: Well you will have some questions about it?

Damon Lindelof: Speaking of questions!

Carlton Cuse: Oh let's get to our questions.

Damon Lindelof: Let's get to viewer questions.

Carlton Cuse: Erm most importantly we're very happy that we have Kris back, he was off at Disney world on a five-day party cruise last week. But now he's back with us. Isn't that a fair assessment Kris?

Kris White: Yes and I'm still sunburned.

Carlton Cuse: Oh good OK.

Damon Lindelof: If that's a sunburn, I don't wanna see you when you're pale. I have to wear sunglasses right now. Very shiny young man.

Carlton Cuse: Alright, well, you seem like you're kinda fired up on the question front, you wanna start over there?

Damon Lindelof: I wanna kick it off!

Carlton Cuse: Kick it off, baby.

Damon Lindelof: This question is posted by banjo_enthusiast, fifteen posts in the last ninety days. Its a nice sane number. “Hi amigos, could you guys confirm if Tom was quoting Alvar Hanso in the episode The Hunting Party which is back in Season 2, when he said you know sometimes, somebody a whole lot smarter than anybody here once said, since the dawn of our species man has been blessed with curiosity. If so, does that mean the Others do have a connection with the Hanso Foundation. Love Lost, and I'm looking forward to the debut of the show, don't make me play this banjo, and the secret ABC project starring Damon called Don't Make Me Wear My Pants.”

Carlton Cuse: Well those are still both in development, however they are fast-tracked, don't expect them to be announced next week at ABC's up-fronts, but erm they are progressing nicely through the development mill. Erm, yes in fact, that was very similar to what Alvar Hanso said, and was quoted on his, website? Is that where it was?

Damon Lindelof: Well I think it was quoted on that website, and for some reason if I, if Carlton you were to actually read this quote aloud, it might actually ring some bells for some of the other members of the audience.

Carlton Cuse: From the, where is it, from the dawn of time, since the dawn of our species, man has been blessed with curiosity.

Damon Lindelof: Where have I heard that before?

Carlton Cuse: Sat next to me.

Damon Lindelof: Where have I heard that exact voice before?

Carlton Cuse: Since the dawn of time man has been blessed with curiosity. Call 1-8-888, dial Hanso, whatever that was.

Damon Lindelof: Are there going to be any fake Hanso commercials this year?

Carlton Cuse: There will not be any fake Hanso commercials this year.

Damon Lindelof: Lord I hope not. Alright...

Carlton Cuse: However you may hear my voice.

Damon Lindelof: That's sort of conclusively, yeah you might hear some voice cameos in the finale this year its pretty exciting.

Carlton Cuse: I know, you might even hear Damon's voice somewhere in the finale.

Damon Lindelof: Keep your eyes peeled for that. For the melodic, harmonious tones of me.

Carlton Cuse: And me, in the finale.

Damon Lindelof: Now you're doing it.

Carlton Cuse: I am. OK...

Damon Lindelof: Alright, would you like to ask a question about my voice or any other?

Carlton Cuse: I'm going, [does deep voice] I'm going to ask you a question in this voice. Why so down on this week's podcast?

Damon Lindelof: It's a perfect question to ask in that voice.

Carlton Cuse: ...by Temporal173, one hundred and fourteen posts in ninety days. Teetering right on the edge.

Damon Lindelof: Well, lemme just ask you, is it Temporal173?

Carlton Cuse: Yes.

Damon Lindelof: So its possible then that time travel is involved in that posting, so maybe they're not posting everyday, they've gone back in time and done more posts than expected so its possible that they're not entirely insane.

Carlton Cuse: Exactly. “Hey D and C. I was wondering why you were both so down, or should I say what up with the gloom, at the beginning and end of the podcast broadcast on the 30th of April. I sincerely hope it wasn't some personal bad news anyway and that it was story related. If so, does this relate to the high percentage of people being killed off in Season 4? I guess its goodbyes due to events in the Season 3 finale, we will all soon find out. You guys have always kept me gripped, and I suppose it is the only show where the actor would benefit from being killed off as they don't have to be worried about being typecast. Anyway I hope the cloud has passed. Keep kickin butt. Temporal173.”

Damon Lindelof: Well, Temporal173, you know we acknowledge even when we finished that podcast sometimes we look at each other and we high-five and I put my pants back on, Carlton plays a song just for me and we realize that we knocked it out of the park, but other times like the April 30th podcast, I think we er, we acknowledged, there's this thing that we experience actually, as writers, which I think the audience experiences after the finale which is a little bit of post-partum depression, and this idea that wow we've finished, erm and with that comes sort of an inherent depression or downer, and then its quickly replaced by what you're probably hearing now from the enthusiasm in our voices, we actually begin to see the finale and post the finale and start talking about Season 4 with the writers so, erm we're again excited but we apologise for any depression and we assure you that it was purely personal and had nothing to do with, all the people we are killing!!! This year and next year!

Carlton Cuse: That actually er, kind of...

Damon Lindelof: That excites us.

Carlton Cuse: ...Makes us happy.

Damon Lindelof: Carlton I've actually...

Carlton Cuse: OK.

Damon Lindelof: ...Got a very easy question for you.

Carlton Cuse: Fantastic.

Damon Lindelof: This is by Assento57, a hundred and thirty-eight posts in the last ninety days.

Carlton Cuse: Rock on dude.

Damon Lindelof: “Dear Damon and Carlton, I was just thinking that this Island lacks monkeys. One would think that a tropical island would have lots of monkeys. Where are the monkeys?!”

Carlton Cuse: Oh my god. You are so prescient. Erm well there is this, there's a certain monkey we like to refer to as Joop.

Damon Lindelof: Yes. A very important monkey.

Carlton Cuse: Who was erm part of the research that was being conducted by the Hanso Foundation.

Damon Lindelof: Will Joop be making any appearances on the show?

Carlton Cuse: We sincerely hope that Joop will show up, Joop is like 150 years old and Joop could tell us a lot.

Damon Lindelof: Well I think we've actually referred to Joop on the podcast before and...

Carlton Cuse: How old is Joop?

Damon Lindelof: He's old.

Carlton Cuse: He's pretty old yeah.

Damon Lindelof: I mean by now he's gotta be real old, but that I think that, you know, Joop has always been sort of our back-door cancellation episode which is if the show were ever to be cancelled we would just cut to him and he would turn around, you'd see sort of a leather chair with its back to you behind a desk with all these books stacked in a, and the chair would turn around and we would reveal Joop smoking a pipe and he'd go “Hahi! I suppose you're wondering who I am. My name is Joop”, and then he would proceed to explain all the mysteries of the island, this is Eddie Kitsis's idea.

Carlton Cuse: And that's erm, that erm pretty much the last episode of the show you'll ever see!

Damon Lindelof: At that point its like why bother!

Carlton Cuse: At that point we're pretty much running from the building.

Damon Lindelof: But Joop was the name of the monkey on Mr. erm, Jules Verne's Mysterious Island, and erm.

Carlton Cuse: We would like to have monkeys, erm we just haven't gotten around to doing any monkey stories yet. Lot of monkey business though!

Damon Lindelof: Wa na na na na na, pff.

Carlton Cuse: Right, Damon. Here's a question, for Damon, Carlton and Kris.

Damon Lindelof: Oh!!!

Carlton Cuse: Kris, getting some airtime! Getting some airtime.

Damon Lindelof: I've got a Kris question coming up too.

Carlton Cuse: You know apparently Kris is superseding us, pretty soon it'll just be Kris' podcast. Kris Kris, ask Kris!

Damon Lindelof: I'm not entirely sure that Kris is not the one submitting these questions, but...

Kris White: Thank you, mom.

Carlton Cuse: Oh my god, pretty soon we'll just be producing this podcast.

Damon Lindelof: I want this question, Carlton.

Carlton Cuse: OK, first. “Damon, will Lost run January through May next year, also has any network picked up Carnivore yet?”

Damon Lindelof: Er no, Carnivore is still like, like the er like don't make me play this banjo, in active development, we have the theme song, we've got the idea and its one of those things that started as a joke but I think it would make an awesome TV show, and er, yes it is our hope and I think ABC is actually in agreement with us on this, that the show will actually run much the way that it did in its second part this year. So basically we would forgo the erm, the episodes that ran you know October to November, and just pick it up in the Spring and run straight through with no reruns.

Carlton Cuse: Cool. Next. “Carlton, do you guys plan on doing podcasts during the hiatus? I hope so because they are something I look forward to on a weekly basis and it would be nice to have something Lost-related whilst its not airing.” Well, thank you, erm, yes, I would like to...

Damon Lindelof: Do you even need anybody else here?

Carlton Cuse: I don't really, yeah.

Damon Lindelof: I'm just gonna go to the restroom while...

Carlton Cuse: Take a...

Damon Lindelof: ...While you ask yourself questions.

Carlton Cuse: Erm I would like to do a podcast with myself for next uh, during the hiatus.

Damon Lindelof: Isn't that a sin if you're a Catholic? I think it is.

Carlton Cuse: Well, I guess it depends on...

Damon Lindelof: Thou shalt not podcast thyself?

Carlton Cuse: Nah it would be fun to actually check in and do a podcast, we actually take vacations from the end of, the finale goes on on May 23rd and we're sort of gone for the next month, that's when we take our vacation, recharge our batteries, and try to erm you know get a little downtime, but maybe er over the summer and certainly since its gonna be a long time before the show comes back, erm Kris, we'd have to find out if the powers that be would let us do that.

Kris White: Well we'll definitely be down at Comic Con this year, so make sure, keep an eye out for us and we'll be bringing back panel as a podcast for...

Damon Lindelof: Oh that sounds exciting.

Carlton Cuse: That's very exciting. And since you're already basically monopolising this entire podcast, Kris, the third part of this question is in finally, Kris, oh yeah, Kris...

Damon Lindelof: Great. Let's see what Kris has to say.

Carlton Cuse: Kris, “Do you enjoy your job, and what is it like watching these two record without pants and strumming on banjos all the time?”

Kris White: Well I'm still holding Damon's pants, but er other than that its great.

Damon Lindelof: And by holding my pants, he means that they're folded neatly in his lap, I don't want you to think anything perverted.

Kris White: They will be starched before the end of the podcast.

Damon Lindelof: Thank you very much. Its the one thing I ask of you.

Carlton Cuse: And this question was from Bo_Valentine_Wifneffski. Wesnesski? Erm, “PS, is Ben Locke's foster brother? Just kidding.”

Damon Lindelof: So that was just a rhetorical question?

Carlton Cuse: I think someone was trying to make me laugh.

Damon Lindelof: Oh right, that's what, that's what started the entire...

Carlton Cuse: And you totally like, you know, didn't edit out all my crazy laughter, everybody thinks I'm insane now. Thank you.

Damon Lindelof: I think everyone knows you're insane now. Carlton?

Carlton Cuse: Yeah.

Damon Lindelof: This question's by Leroy Labowski, two posts in the last ninety days. “Dear creators, when Lost is cancelled, will ABC give you guys enough notice to end the show properly, or will we all be left hanging as was the case in shows like Carnival. PS, love the show! Keep up the good work!” I love the sort of the pessimism and the optimism thing.... by Leroy.

Carlton Cuse: Erm, no, I think there's not a lot of chance that the show will just end sort of mid-stride like Carnival.

Damon Lindelof: It is our hope that Lost will in fact not be cancelled, that it will actually end.

Carlton Cuse: And you know, we've mentioned this before, we are, you know, still in discussions with ABC and hope to arrive er, get to a place pretty soon where we can actually announce the end date of Lost, and be able to tell you exactly how much more Lost there is. And that's something that's really important for us, and you know its important both creatively as it allows us to then really plan out the remaining episodes and know exactly how many episodes we have to tell our remaining mythology, and its also important we want the show to end while its still relevant, I mean, in Lost its not a franchise show like Grey's Anatomy or something which can kinda go on and on and you can always rejuvenate it with new doctors and there's always another medical case that's gonna walk into that hospital. This is a story with a beginning, middle and an end, and we wanna basically be able to tell the audience when the end is.

Damon Lindelof: That was a very concise and well thought-out answer, Carlton, thank you.

Carlton Cuse: There's a certain formality sitting in this radio room that er is different than having a DAT recorder on a cardboard box in your office.

Damon Lindelof: I miss the cardboard box.

Kris White: I could bring the cardboard box, if it will make you all feel comfortable...

Carlton Cuse: I do, I feel, I feel lonely without the cardboard box. Does the Hurleybird catch the worm! “Hey D and C...”

Damon Lindelof: Genius.

Carlton Cuse: “...I was just wondering if the bird that calls out Hurley's name was actually Smokie, why a bird? The lack of wildlife stops Smokie from using a bird, the, the, the lack of widlife stops Smokie from using a bird looks at point of reference that this must have come from...”

Damon Lindelof: Do you want a minute, Carlton, I have no idea what the hell it is you're saying.

Carlton Cuse: Obviously this sentence came from er, the subconscious of the writer here.

Damon Lindelof: Who is the writer?

Carlton Cuse: Temporal173.

Damon Lindelof: How many posts in the last ninety days?

Carlton Cuse: One hundred and fourteen. I think I read his other question! That was, you know...

Damon Lindelof: Which question did he ask first?

Carlton Cuse: “So my real question is, where in Hurley's past did we see the bird, is it part of something we haven't yet shown in flashbacks? And how does it relate to Hurley?”

Damon Lindelof: Well, we, the Hurleybird is still a very mysterious figure on the island, we don't know if it is in fact saying his name or er if its traditional “Hurley!” call is actually just one of those things that sounds like something that its not. Erm, but er, we've traditionally seen the bird in finales past, and we might be seeing it again in this finale or maybe not but, I think I can definitively answer for you, Temporal173, the Hurleybird has never appeared in Hurley's life prior to his erm life on the island.

Carlton Cuse: Cause that bird actually has like a 16ft wingspan, and so that'd be kind of a big bird to be in Los Angeles actually.

Damon Lindelof: It sure would.

Carlton Cuse: All right, one more? Then let's get out of here.

Damon Lindelof: Sure, OK. Erm, here, here is my question. Three absolutes in the Lost podcast, by Cerealboxman, just one post in the last ninety days...

Carlton Cuse: Awesome.

Damon Lindelof: ...So I gotta read it. “Hey guys, I finally got around to listen to your podcast, started with the first one of Season 3, I was so hooked I listened and watched them all in two nights. So here are the three things that I noticed that must happen in each podcast.” This is good, Carlton, because, people often say that they watch the DVDs straight through and that certain things come to light in terms of the show. Now this is someone whose actually listened to all of our podcasts in a single sitting, into the wee hours of the mornings, so I'm sure we'll get some very astute observations. “Number one, Damon will comment about himself not wearing any pants.” Seems like we've already done that in this week's.

Carlton Cuse: I think I commented, I dunno if you yourself commented...

Damon Lindelof: Kris also commented. “Number two, Carlton will ask a question and Damon's first response will be well that's an interesting question, Carlton..., so Carlton don't let Damon push you around when he says it sounds like you are always reading from the script – he is the one that's so predictable”.

Carlton Cuse: He is! You're right! Thank you.

Damon Lindelof: “Number three, 99% chance for a phone to ring.” That is the one thing that I think that er, that the radio room has given us...

Carlton Cuse: We're sealed from it, we're inured from the phone.

Damon Lindelof: “Well if I'm supposed to ask a question then it should be this. Addressing the guy that opens and closes each podcast”, that's Kris, “Is his job solely working on podcasts, or did he work for Lost previously? Keep up the great work on Lost, and hope to see how mad Nikki and Paulo are at the A-Team in Season 7 for burying them alive. Cerealboxman.” So...

Carlton Cuse: That's, what an appropriate question considering this podcast is all about Kris.

Damon Lindelof: It is.

Carlton Cuse: It really is.

Damon Lindelof: Will Kris still be interesting, now all the mysteries about him are being revealed? Is it safe to say that you do a little more than just the Lost podcasts?

Kris White: It is safe to assume that.

Damon Lindelof: So you do other podcasts.

Kris White: I do other podcasts.

Carlton Cuse: What other podcasts do you do, I mean my god, you actually do other stuff besides Lost?

Kris White: Occasionally.

Damon Lindelof: Why?

Carlton Cuse: Why?

Kris White: You know I'm asking myself the same question. We do have the Ugly Betty podcast, and we also have the Grey's Anatomy podcast.

Damon Lindelof: What kind of questions get asked on the Grey's Anatomy or the Ugly Betty podcast?

Kris White: We actually, this is the only podcast where we do fan questions.

Damon Lindelof: Oh really, so they just kind of talk about the making of the show, and...

Kris White: Pretty much, its er, the executive producer Shonder Rimes and Betsy Debeers you know chat about the show and talk about the episode that just past, and on Ugly Betty...

Damon Lindelof: Do they play instruments or wear pants?

Kris White: No no, but they are big fans of you guys.

Damon Lindelof: Oh well we love Betsy and Shonder.

Carlton Cuse: Yeah.

Damon Lindelof: And I, and I will start listening to their podcast immediately.

Carlton Cuse: And what about the Ugly Betty podcast?

Kris White: And on the Ugly Betty podcast, we have two of our wonderful talent who er actually gab about the show and also interview other talent. Erm, Becky Newton and...

Damon Lindelof: Wait, I'm sorry, are you saying that we are not talent. Is that what you're inferring?

Carlton Cuse: No, he is!

Kris White: Nah you all are very talented.

Damon Lindelof: Because, no no, you're like “oh no, on that podcast we actually have talent” and that's good... good to know....

Kris White: I meant that the proper term for actors.

Damon Lindelof: Well, Carlton, I'm feeling very untalented right now...

Kris White: I'm so editing this out.

Damon Lindelof: ...I thought that we were gonna, have an up podcast...

Carlton Cuse: Apparently Kris has pretty much just thrown a stake in the heart of our up podcast, so lets get depressed now and then get out of here.

Damon Lindelof: All right, Carlton.

Carlton Cuse: [Depressed voice] All right, Damon. Well, I guess we tried, we tried the best we could but, I'm sorry to wreck your podcast, Kris!

Damon Lindelof: Yeah, sorry buddy, next time we'll maybe find some talent to sit in...

Carlton Cuse: Stay here, and actually help you have a good podcast for yourself.

Damon Lindelof: All right everybody, well we hope you enjoy The Man Behind The Curtain, you probably won't because...

Carlton Cuse: Because Kris didn't work on it.

Damon Lindelof: Yeah cause Kris was...

Carlton Cuse: He was busy doing Ugly Betty.

Damon Lindelof: Its an episode we're pretty proud of...

Carlton Cuse: We like it...

Damon Lindelof: ...You know.

Carlton Cuse: ...Even if Kris doesn't.

Damon Lindelof: You're gonna learn about Ben next week, but who cares

Carlton Cuse: Really just cause you've waited for a year and a half

Damon Lindelof: Yeah exactly.

Carlton Cuse: All right guys, we'll see you soon.

Damon Lindelof: Next week in fact.

Carlton Cuse: OK.

Damon Lindelof: Take it easy.

Carlton Cuse: Bye.

Damon Lindelof: Bye.

Kris White: That's it for this week's podcast, join us again next time for a rehash of The Main Behind The Curtain, and of course more fan questions. To get your questions read on the podcast, just log onto the boards at lost.abc.com. The Man Behind The Curtain airs Wednesday May 9th from 10 to 11pm only on ABC.
