Ultra Agents is a theme introduced in the summer of 2014 and discontinued at the end of 2015. This theme features a new variety of Agents fighting disaster-themed villains attracted to danger. It has similarities to the two previous agent-related themes, Agents and Agents 2.0, such as vehicles, protagonists, and antagonists.
Description

The 2014 logo
Ultra Agents is the first theme based on secret agents since 2008's Agents and its subtheme, 2009's Agents 2.0, which both featured similar agents, villains, and vehicles. The main difference is that unlike Agents, the Ultra Agents sets have two apps that allows the builder to interact with the sets by scanning AppBricks that come with the sets.
The majority of the sets in the theme feature vehicles for both the Ultra Agents and the Super Villains. The Ultra Agents' vehicles have a futuristic color scheme consisting of Black, Silver, and Transparent Blue; while the Super Villains' vehicles do not have a specific color scheme, but rather they tie with the general color scheme of their respective owners.
Background
A former Ultra Agent named Morgan Lux sought to contain all evil within Astor City, a star-shaped coastal city. He designed the AntiMatter Staff to fight against it, but the staff corrupted him and transformed him into a supervillain named AntiMatter. With the belief that people's "good side" made them weak, he used his new powers to corrupt various citizens in the city and turn them into Super Villains, who would bring him everything he needed to create a giant device to take control of the entire city and get rid of everyone's good side.
Many years after his mission in space as part of the Galaxy Squad, Solomon Blaze recruited four agents and put them through vigorous training until they became full-fledged Ultra Agents.
The Ultra Agents took on the Super Villains in different districts of Astor City, not knowing that they were only distractions set up by AntiMatter as he prepared his next big strike. Eventually AntiMatter revealed himself and fought against his enemies while trying to capture and corrupt the citizens of Astor City. However, his plan was thwarted by Agent Blaze, who sacrificed himself and saved the people of the district.

Notes
- The Super Villains in the first wave of this theme are based on disasters. Psyclone is based on hurricanes and tornadoes, Tremor is based on earthquakes, Infearno is based on fires, Toxikita and her henchmen are based on chemical spills, and Terabyte is based on cyberhacks.
- This theme's story is connected to Galaxy Squad, which in turn is connected to Monster Fighters.
- Unlike its predecessor Agents, the Super Villains as a whole do not share a master plan, but they all work for one leader.
- Prior to his first physical appearance in 70170 UltraCopter vs. AntiMatter, AntiMatter appears in stickers on Psyclone's mech's cockpit and the Ultra Agents' top-secret laptop. Furthermore, in the app, he seemed to be giving the Super Villains information from behind the scenes and attempted to teleport into the HQ, but failed. The first app's story ends on a cliffhanger regarding his identity, hinting toward the second wave.
- Astor City is divided into ten regions: Riverside, Astoria, Uptown, Pointer Island, West Village, Downtown, Rookbridge, Cane Beach, Southgate, and Coleport.
- According to a LEGO Club quiz, this theme takes place on Earth.
- Prior to his first appearance in 70169 Agent Stealth Patrol, P.U.P. appears in the Ultra Agents App in Mission 6: Ultra Agents Mission HQ. He is nearly identical to the K-9 Bot from Space Police III in the app, but is black with blue lights and no missile rack. In his physical appearance, he is gunmetal grey with a different head.
- The Ultra Agents website had four secret intel videos. The first revealed that portals were transforming civilians into villains. The second revealed that AntiMatter was behind the transformation and that he was using the AntiMatter Staff. The third revealed AntiMatter's identity to be former Ultra Agent Morgan Lux. The fourth revealed the location of AntiMatter's Portal Hideout.
- In the Ultra Agents: The Antimatter Missions app, Mission 3: Attack on Dr. Brainstein's Lab shows a flashback found using the Antimatter Twist tool which shows the previous Ultra Agent uniform, which is the same outfit used in the original Agents and Agents 2.0 lines.
- 70163 Toxikita's Toxic Meltdown, 70172 AntiMatter's Portal Hideout, and 70173 Ultra Agents Ocean HQ are the only sets that include two villains rather than one.
- Likewise, AntiMatter, Terabyte, and Toxikita are the only villains to appear in two sets.
- AntiMatter is the only villain to have his appearance unaltered in both of his set appearances.
