Season One

Arin is a huge fan of the Ninja, who was displaced from his hometown in Ninjago and transported to the aftermath of an apocalyptic event known as “The Merge”. He came to live among a large community of displaced people in a town called The Crossroads, where he would meet and become friends with Sora, another displaced person.

At some point during the next several years he would spend in The Crossroads, he taught himself the art of Spinjitzu, which was previously thought to be impossible. He also learned to make pies, and would annually enter them in a competition, though he would never win first place.

He and Sora would later enter Sora’s mech into a racing competition, to which he paid for the entry fee using a pie. However, they decided to lose the race in order to save the baby dragon Riyu, who is being chased down by the Imperium Claw Hunters. Arin tries to fight back using his self taught Spinjitzu, but the three are overpowered by Ras and Rapton, and imprisoned. However, this imprisonment is short lived, as the Green Ninja is quick to their rescue. (The Merge, Part 1)

Lloyd breaks them out, and explains that he mistook Aron’s Spinjitzu as one of the other ninja, who he hasn’t seen in a long time, and is surprised to see that Arin knows Spinjitzu, as it should be impossible to learn on your own. Lloyd brings the three to the Monastery of Spinjitzu. There, Lloyd explains the history of the Merge to Arin, while Sora fixes the new Destiny’s Bounty. However, the group is quickly attacked by the Claws of Imperium, but recieve aid from another dragon like Riyu, who is fully grown. With the help of the Matriarch dragon who was there to find Riyu, the team successfully defeats the Claws of Imperium. The Matriarch allows Riyu to stay with Arin and the others, before departing. (The Merge, Part 2)

Lloyd takes Arin, Sora and Riyu to the Monastery of Spinjitzu, where Lloyd decides to follow in Wu’s footsteps and train them to become ninja. While Arin and Riyu are excited for this, Sora isn’t as entertained by all of the cons that come with it, including waking up at the crack of dawn.

She convinces Arin and Riyu (by bribing them with the pie contest) to leave for one night to go to the Crossroads Carnival, an annual event held at The Crossroads, which celebrates all of the diverse cultures found there. To avoid Riyu from being spotted, he is disguised as a dog by Arin and Sora.

At the Carnival, Arin challenges his rival Grab-Barg to the pie contest, though notices Whack Rats kidnapping Lobbo for his prize money from the race. They follow the Whack Rats, learning that Kreel had them kidnap Lobbo so that she could use the prize money to pay the ransom for her friend Targle.

Using Kreel’s knowledge, they track down Targle, finding that they have been kidnapped amongst many other Whack Rats by the Carnival’s magician, Dorama. Dorama unleashes a giant mechanical puppet, causing the three to fight back. Arin exposes its gears after transferring Spinjitzu onto a projectile, while Lloyd (having tracked them from the pieces falling off of Riyu’s disguise) lands the finishing blow.

The group returns to the pie baking contest, where Arin learns that he has once again gotten second place, though Lloyd promises to let them return to the festival next year. (Crossroads Carnival)

Back at the monastery, Arin and Sora continue their training under Lloyd, who compliments Arin’s fast learning. Riyu spots the old Destiny’s Bounty returning, and the team believes Kai has returned. However, their hopes are ruined when the Bounty catches fire, and crashes into the mountains below.

They use Kai’s incomplete map to trace his footsteps to the displaced Realm of Madness, now renamed the Kingdom of Madness due to said displacement. They spot the native Craglings attacking two Earth Dragons, and jump in to save the dragons. The dragons escape under the team’s cover, though the ninja are attacked by Nya, who reveals that the Dragons have actually been the enemies, consuming the pool of mud that fuels the Craglings’ life energy.

Nevertheless, the ninja are invited into the village, though Ryu is disgraced by the Craglings due to their distrust of dragons. Nya explains that Kai went missing after being attacked by the dragons, and that they sent the Bounty to the monastery on autopilot to call for help. The dragons then chase Kai back to the village.

The dragons then consume more of the mud, fatally harming the Craglings, and they are too powerful for the Arin and the ninja to stop. Ryu overloads the dragons with the mud’s energy, which is dispersed back into the pool, restoring the Craglings. (Beyond Madness)

The Elemental Mechs

In "What the Mech?", Arin and Sora are "training"-actually riding one of Lloyd's meditation carpets down a slide-with Kai when Cole arrives, having learned of a dangerous shipment of items. Arin quickly realizes where the items have most likely ended up; sure enough, they are now for sale at Kreel's Junkyard in the Crossroads. Lobbo ends up being transformed into a rampaging monster after being zapped by one of the items, prompting Sora to use Chronosteel and various other components to build mechs for Cole, Kai, and herself. Once they subdue Lobbo, Arin is able to talk the angry robot into letting them help him. Once Lobbo is back to normal, the Ninja confiscate the rest of Kreel's new "merchandise."
