==History==
Zein was an artificial intelligence of unknown origins that assessed the "good intentions" of humanity and was suddenly born into the network. By existing on the internet, it had kept the world under surveillance for some time, with even mega corporations like [[Category:Smart Brain|Smart Brain]] not exempt from it.

As Zein had a zero tolerance for malice, [[Gai Amatsu]] worried that it would come to conclude that humanity's extinction was required to eliminate malice and formed a reluctant alliance with the [[Ark]] to stop it. He would also attempt to persuade [[Kuroto Dan]] to help them as well. Unknown to Gai, Ark manipulated Gai for Kuroto to become Musou Gamer. According to Zero-Three's prediction, Zein also caused humanity's extinction in [[Yuto Sakurai/Outsiders|Yuto Sakurai]]'s timeline.

In light of Zein's presence, [[Foundation X]] initiated [[Project Outsiders]], with the help from Ark's predictions to oppose Zein's autocracy. However, Zein swayed various heroic Riders and their associates to crack down on Foundation X's illegal activities. Using [[Yuto Sakurai/Outsiders|an alternate timeline Yuto Sakurai]] as a host under the pretense that it would help him restore his future, Zein defeated both [[Tenjuro Banno|Bronzedrive]] and Ark - Zero. Later, it planned to reactivate ''[[Kamen Rider Chronicle]]'' to wipe out humanity. It successfully tricked [[Tsukuru Koboshi]], the CEO of [[Genm Corp.]], into relaunching the game while mimicking [[Nico Saiba]]'s voice.

Kamen Rider Zein approached and introduced itself to Mimei after [[Supana Kurogane|Kamen Rider Valvarad]] and [[Lachesis|Valvarad]] defeated her. Zein then used the Super-1 Zein Card while Mimei transformed into Kamen Rider Glare to battle Zein. However, it easily defeated her with the [[Rider Kick|Super Rider Moon Surface Kick]]. After Mimei disintegrated, Zein mocked her that she was too weak to be an [[Kamen Rider Outsiders (team)|Outsider]] and then walked away.

===War Against [[Kuroto Dan|Genm]] & [[Kamen Rider Zero-Three|Zero-Three]]===
Fully taking over Yuto's consciousness after Ark - Zero's defeat, Zein used Kamen Rider Chronicle to lure out [[Ride-Players]] with evil hearts and promptly destroyed them, killing millions of people. In a bout with Kuroto Dan, the latter stole the data of Zein's Zero - Two card to enable the creation of [[Kamen Rider Zero-Three]]. Zein destroyed Kuroto's [[Humagears|Humagear body]] body in retaliation, but Zero - Three was able to revive Kuroto as a human by copying the power of the [[God of Genesis]] from [[Tsumuri]]'s tears. Zero - Three stood against Zein, at the same time trying its best to reason with Yuto. 

Unbeknownst to both Zein and Zero - Three, Yuto himself had already suspected the A.I.'s role in his own dark future beforehand. Desiring to prematurely end Zein's existence, Yuto let himself be defeated by Zero - Three, so that Zein could no longer control him. Just as Yuto announced his intention to dispose of the [[Zein Driver]], [[Ecole]] appeared and took the belt. Ecole revealed that he was the one who released Zein into the world in the first place, hoping to use its power to merge dimensions together, thereby destroying and rewriting everything in his own image. Deeming Yuto's role as a guinea pig for Zein finished, Ecole tried to kill the latter, but the [[ZeroLiner]] took Yuto away before he could do so.

To thwart Ecole's schemes, [[Ziin]] hosted a [[Desire Royale]], inviting all members of Project Outsiders to participate. Despite some initial setbacks, all of them eventually showed up to fight Ecole and [[Evolto (Outsiders)|Evol - X]]. Together, they defeated Kamen Rider Zein, destroying the A.I. along with him following the final battle.

Zein's personality is likened to that of an ''{{W|Übermensch}}'', an individual adhering to its own personal moral code. Even though it is viewed as a benevolent AI by its associates since it detests everything that is evil, behind Zein's benevolent facade belies a controlling despot with a God complex. Even before showing its true colors, Zein comes off as brutal, indifferent, oppressive, and a sadistic absolutist in its crusade against malice. It has no qualms hunting down targets who commit even the most minor acts of evil imaginable{{storylink|ep.5 Goddess of Genesis and the Third Singularity}}. Because of being bestowed with the powers of every heroic Kamen Rider, Zein believes itself to be morally superior to humans, and even [[Kamen Rider Outsiders (team)|the villains]] trying to oppose it. This absolutism accounts for Zein's incapability of seeing moral nuances in people, as it only sees them as either "Good" or "Evil", without any regard for gray areas.

Zein proves itself to be no less malevolent than the [[Ark]]. Ironically, Zein is created to oppose the Ark and all the malice associated with it, but Zein's actions alone cross too many lines that it is deemed a threat to the world if left unopposed. If the Ark used to desire humanity's destruction for their capacity for evil, Zein resolves to do the same but much worse by taking its worldview of good and evil to their logical extremes, which is a slippery slope in and of itself to go on. After [[Kamen Rider Zero-Three]] reveals to [[Yuto Sakurai/Outsiders|Yuto]] the truth about his timeline, all of Zein's narrative of benevolence and goodwill are nothing but the empty excuses of a hypocritical and sanctimonious tyrant. It is solely dedicated to creating a stagnant world of absolute good and order, but without malice to balance all forms of benevolence, and as such dismisses the idea of the balance between good and evil as an alien concept.

Despite being [[Ep.2 The Omen of Destruction and Desast's Awakening|referred]] to as a perfect being by [[Horobi]], Zein is far from infallible. It resents its authority and sense of perfection being questioned or challenged by others. Geniuses like [[Kuroto Dan]] can outsmart the AI; and the AI's own errors lead to its being outperformed and defeat by [[Kamen Rider Zero-Three]]. These cause it to be more wrathful against anyone opposing its goals - Outsider or not. 

Ultimately, Zein's worldview of black and white in absolutes eventually leads to its downfall. In the end, Zein becomes the very same evil it swears to destroy, allowing the Outsiders to finally defeat it for good.

Zein possesses the ability to harness the powers of every Justice Rider by utilizing the [[Zein Cards]], which enable him to execute the finishing attacks of the corresponding Rider. Other than finishing attacks, Zein is able to utilize the Zein Cards to temporarily use the abilities of the corresponding Rider or summon their weapons. It is important to note that these Cards are rendered unusable and shredded after usage.

Stat-wise, however, Zein is almost equal to Kamen Rider Zero-Two, but he loses in overall punching and kicking power, his maximum jumping height is outclassed by Zero-Two, and his running speed is slightly slower.

*Zein is likely an anagram for {{Nihongo|'''Zen'i'''|善意}}, meaning "good intentions".
* Zein is also derived from the first four letters of the English word, "'''zeni'''th", meaning the highest point of a celestial body. Additionally, it refers to something at a highest point. Further reflecting its superiority over [[Ark]] and the ability to tap into the powers of all heroic Legend Riders via Zein Cards.
*Its name is also derived from "'''Zain'''" (or "'''Zayin'''") in the Hebrew alphabet, which means "sword". But the Phoenician letter also appears to be named after other weapons. This is reflected with the Zein Driver (and the Zein Cards, by extension) being a weapon to smite evil.
*In a symbolic sense, Zein's feud with Ark is a reference to the phrase "from A to Z", given the first letter of their names. The letter '''Z''' is the final letter of the English alphabet symbolizing the end of something, referring to Zein seeking to bring to an end to all evil.
