Through the use of the Lostdriver and Skull Memory, Sokichi transforms into Kamen Rider Skull. Skull is unique in that besides wearing a white tethered scarf he also wears a white fedora. It was created by Shroud as the prototype for Kamen Rider Double.[1][2]
Skull consists of the following parts:[3]
- Dark Finder (ダークファインダー, Dāku Faindā): The eyes are enhanced visual organs that provide an even wider, 260-degree field of view than the Double's Hawk Finder. Its visual acuity is as high as 4.5 and can see 100 meters in all directions even in the dark without light sources with the night vision function.
- Gaia Sonar (ガイアソナー, Gaia Sonā): The ears are strengthening organs with almost the same hearing ability as Double. They can even hear the sound of a needle dropping 10 km away.
- Skull Regulator (スカルレギュレーター, Sukaru Regyurētā): It instantly purifies gases and unclean air and delivers purified oxygen to the body. A large amount of oxygen is stored in the Converter Lung in the Bone Lung of the chest, allowing Skull to function without oxygen for a certain period of time.
- Gaiarmor (ガイアーマー, Gaiāmā): The whole body. The reinforced skin with almost the same performance as Double's. It has both strength and flexibility that allow Sokichi to move around without spoiling his athleticism.
- Bone Protection (ボーンプロテクション, Bōn Purotekushon): The reinforced exoskeletal part with a design of six sternal bones that further protects the Bone Lung (ボーンラング, Bōn Rangu) from intense impact.
- Hammer Shoulder (ハンマーショルダー, Hanmā Shorudā): The reinforced exoskeleton armor that protects Skull's shoulders. It can be effectively used as a striking weapon by shoulder tackling.
- Skull Brace (スカルブレス, Sukaru Buresu): Skull Memory's power is strengthened and amplified around the arms to obtain powerful arm strength.
- Skull Knuckle (スカルナックル, Sukaru Nakkuru): The fists strengthened by the Skull Brace produce punching power on par with world-class fighters, and even when used barehanded, the fists themselves have the destructive power of a powerful striking weapon.
- Skull Anklet (スカルアンクレット, Sukaru Ankuretto): It amplifies Skull Memory's power around the legs, and increases the strength of the legs to the utmost limit. The kick he delivers from there is unparalleled in strength, and is powerful enough to knock down enemy members en masse.
Equipment & Ability[]
Equipment[]
Lostdriver[]
- Main article: Lostdriver
The Lostdriver is Skull's transformation belt. Sokichi received this from Shroud to combat Dopants easier. It is similar in design to the Doubledriver used by Double, except for having only one Memory slot.
Gaia Memories[]
- Main article: Gaia Memories
Skull Memory: The Skull Memory, also called the Skeleton Memory, is the Gaia Memory used for the transformation into Kamen Rider Skull and for Maximum Drives. When placed in the Maximum Drive slot, it performs a Rider Kick, and the Skull Memory can also be used in conjunction with his Skullmagnum.
Skullmagnum[]
- Main article: Skullmagnum
The Skullmagnum is a firearm similar to the Triggermagnum in Maximum Mode used by Double. It is gained through the power of the Skull Memory its Maximum Drive called the Skull Punisher which blasts the opponent with powerful rapidfire shots.
Memory Gadget[]
- Main article: Memory Gadgets
Skull, like Double, also used Memory Gadgets, supplied by Shroud, to combat the Dopant threat.
- The Stag Phone (スタッグフォン, Sutaggu Fon) is the only existing Memory Gadget in 1999, used by Sokichi Narumi as his primary weapon prior to his becoming of Skull. The Stag Phone switches between Cell Phone Mode (携帯モード, Keitai Mōdo) and Stag Mode (スタッグモード, Sutaggu Mōdo) with the use of the Stag Memory (スタッグメモリ, Sutaggu Memori). When in Cell Phone Mode, it allows Kamen Rider Skull to summon the Skullgarry.
Skullboilder[]
- Main article: Skullboilder
Skull also has a modified Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle similar to Double's Hardboilder, but all black in color and with half of the "W" symbol (which makes it the "S" symbol) painted silver, to represent Skull's Lostdriver. It is armed with a series of guns called the Universal Launchers (ユニバーサルランチャー, Yunibāsaru Ranchā).
Skullgarry[]
- Main article: Skullgarry
The Skullgarry (スカルギャリー, Sukarugyarī) is a tank/garage that holds the Skullboilder. It was created by Shroud and the vehicle later becomes Kamen Rider Double's Revolgarry after extensive redesigning. The Skullgarry only appears in the Kamen Rider Skull: Message for Double portion of Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider OOO & W Featuring Skull: Movie War Core.
Legend Rider Devices[]
Kamen Ride: Skull (カメンライドスカル, Kamenraido Sukaru): A Rider Card containing the power of Kamen Rider Skull possessed by Kamen Rider Decade. Unlike the others, it was sealed. It had a black background like those of the protagonist Kamen Riders. Decade gave it to Shotaro Hidari, the left half of Kamen Rider Double. After he left, a Sokichi Narumi from another world appeared through a dimensional wall and spoke to Shotaro. [Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider W & Decade: Movie War 2010]
Another Kamen Ride: Skull (カメンライドスカル, Kamenraido Sukaru): with a white background like those of extra Kamen Riders, is also one of the eight cards used by Kamen Rider Diend Complete Form. It summons Kamen Rider Skull. [Episode Yellow: Treasure de End Pirates]
This Skull Wizard Ring (スカルウィザードリング, Sukaru Wizādo Ringu) which bears the likeness of Kamen Rider Skull is exclusive to Kamen Rider Wizard's Wizard Ring toyline. When used by a Wizardriver wearer, it would be able to summon Kamen Rider Skull.
Skull Lockseed (スカルロックシード, Sukaru Rokkushīdo): Allows the user to transform into Skull Arms. The core image depicts the Lostdriver while the lid backside image depicts the Skull Memory. Gaim/Kurokage/Bujin Gaim/Kamuro-styled Lockseed.

Notes[]
- Kamen Rider Skull is the only Kamen Rider to have a major role in a Movie War film, but not be a Main Rider.
- Until the reveal of the NeoDecadriver in Kamen Rider Zi-O, Kamen Rider Skull was the only post-Decade Rider to have an official Kamen Ride Card and one of two post-Decade Riders to have a Rider Card (Double had a Final Form Ride Card). For nine years, Kamen Ride: Skull was the only Kamen Ride Card which referred to the depicted Kamen Rider as Kamen Rider rather than Masked Rider, as the official romanization of the Kamen Rider Series was changed from Masked Rider to Kamen Rider starting with W.
- Kamen Rider Skull's presence on Diend's Complete Form is an anomaly. Aside from being from the series after Decade, he is a heroic Rider while the other seven Riders on Diend Complete Form are villains, specifically the villains of their respective Summer Movies. Of course, a more appropriate choice would be Kamen Rider Eternal, the villain of Kamen Rider W Forever: A to Z/The Gaia Memories of Fate. However since the Cho Den-O Trilogy was released during the run of Kamen Rider W, with Episode Yellow premiering over a month before the W summer movie, Eternal appearing would be problematic.
- It is possible that the Kamen Rider Skull summoned by Diend Complete Form is actually the imitation version.
