Enigma (エニグマ, Eniguma) was an interdimensional gateway created by scientist Kaisei Mogami, connecting the World of Build with the World of Ex-Aid.
Ten years ago, while researching parallel universes, Mogami found the Bugster Virus at the Sky Wall before concluding that the virus was from a parallel universe. He wanted to create a gateway, but could not get research money for it so he moved to Namba Heavy Industries to continue his research. With the help of Takumi Katsuragi, he developed both the Kaiser System and the Enigma which allowed him to make contact with his World of Ex-Aid counterpart who was a Foundation X scientist. However, he lost the left side of his body due to an Enigma accident, caused by Takumi who opposed his ultimate goal. He ultimately resurfaced to cause the fusion and destruction of the two universes using the Enigma in order to fuse with his counterpart into a single immortal entity and become the ruler of all the universes. Dark General Gaburin
The Enigma machine was designed for the 2017 crossover film Kamen Rider Heisei Generations Final: Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Riders by Hideki Tajima of Ishimori Productions. The two Engimas, specifically the World of Build incarnation in regards to color scheme, are clearly derived from the Dark General Gaburin (闇将軍ガブリン, Yami Sh��gun Gaburin), a giant mecha demon hand-like monster also having an eye in his palm from Uchuu Tetsujin Kyodain
.
In light of the fact that Sota Fukushi was reprising his role as Gentaro Kisaragi, the eponymous hero of Kamen Rider Fourze, Hideki Tajima, who previously worked on reimagined Kyodain characters in the 2012 film Kamen Rider Fourze The Movie: Everyone! Let's Feel the Universe!, chose to adapt this design for which there was no use in the prior feature. This proved fitting, as the joining of two hands echoed the connection between the two worlds. While the World of Build's Engima inherited its blue color from Gaburin, the second Enigma created for the World of Ex-Aid sported the matching color red and equiped with missiles, reflecting another Toei tokusatsu works.[1]
