This article is about a villain in Kamen Rider Black RX. |
- For his A.R. World counterpart mentioned in Kamen Rider Decade, see Emperor Crisis (A.R. World).
Emperor Crisis (クライシス皇帝, Kuraishisu Kōtei) is the overarching antagonist of Kamen Rider Black RX. He is the ruling dictator of the Crisis Empire who is not seen at first, but mentioned several times throughout the series. To inspect the invasion's lack of progress, he becomes Colonel Dasmader (ダスマダー大佐, Dasumadā Taisa), a high ranking inspector supposedly sent by the emperor himself when it was really a second body for him.
History[]
He resides in Crisis City at the Empire's home world. He conquered the Demon World in the distant past, transforming it from a peaceful world into an industrialized universal power which expanded its claws onto multiple planets. However, due to the Emperor's policies, completely disregarding the nature of the Demon World, its environment was destroyed and the planet itself was slowly dying, heading to complete destruction.
Aiming to save his empire, Crisis sent his army to take over Earth, planning to destroy humanity and move the population of Crisis from their original world to rule Earth. To inspect the invasion's lack of progress, he eventually takes charge of the operation disguised as Colonel Dasmader, a high ranking inspector supposedly sent by the emperor himself when it was really a second body for him.
After many failures, Lord Crisis eventually offered Black RX the chance to replace General Jark and become his new right hand or even rule Earth if he agreed to his plans. When refused, he faced Black RX as Dasmader, attempting to destroy Black RX with the Crisis Fortress, only for RX to follow him into it.
Black RX finally sees Crisis itself from space, and realizes that it's identical to Earth. In fact, the Emperor claims that Crisis is a mirror world to Earth, and it's dying due to Earth's pollution and humanity's evil, only for Black RX to reject his claims, affirming that it was the Emperor's policies that led to that.
After being defeated as Dasmader, he revealed himself, appearing as a giant alien head in a last attempt to defeat Black RX. He was destroyed by RX's Revolcane and the demon world blew up as it was linked to him. While dying, he claimed that as long as humanity's evil continued to exist, they'd give birth to a new Crisis and he'd return alongside it.

Behind the scenes[]
Portrayal[]
Emperor Crisis was voiced by Goro Naya (納谷 悟朗, Naya Gorō), who previously voiced the Great Leader's various incarnations in the Showa Kamen Rider Series: the Shocker Leader, the Great Leader of Destron, the Great Leader of Black Satan, the Great Leader of Delzer Army, the Great Leader of Neo Shocker, and The Generalissimo of Badan.
As Colonel Dasmader, he is portrayed by Tetsuya Matsui (松井 哲也, Matsui Tetsuya).
Notes[]
- Due to his voice actor, role and appearance, the Crisis Emperor is often associated with the Great Leader of Shocker and assumed to be one of his forms. However, there's no actual in-continuity material pointing towards that idea. The previous Riders also never acknowledge his voice in spite of spying on Black RX's meeting with him.
- On the other hand, in the crossover videogame Tokusatsu Adventure Battle Super Hero Retsuden (特撮冒険活劇 スーパーヒーロー烈伝, Tokusatsu bōken katsugeki supā hīrō retsuden), which has a retelling of the stories of several tokusatsu series mixed into a large original crossover story, the Crisis Emperor is revealed to be the real form of the Great Leader in the game's Rider route.
- As Colonel Dasmader, he appears in Saban's Saban's Masked Rider as an unnamed background character in certain episodes, through spliced footage.
