Scholar Gems are essence gems which grants bonuses to Mind. They come in five or six strengths — Flawed, Inferior, ordinary, Superior, Flawless, and (in the PC version) Ultimate. The corresponding gems for the other two ability scores, Body and Spirit, are called Warrior Gems and Monk Gems, respectively.
Flawed Scholar Gem[]
- In Two Rivers:
- One can be purchased from Smiling Mountain after emerging from Spirit Cave.
- One can be purchased from Fen Do after emerging from Spirit Cave.
- In Tien's Landing:
- One can be purchased from Merchant Cheung if players close the Great Dam.
- One can be purchased from Shipeng if players kill Merchant Jiang.
- At the Pilgrim's Rest Inn, one can be purchased from Henpecked Hou before he joins as a follower.
Inferior Scholar Gem[]
- One can be purchased from Zin Bu.
- At the Dam Site of Tien's Landing, one is given to players by Chai Ka.
- In Tien's Landing proper, one can be purchased from Shipeng if players kill Merchant Jiang.
- At the Pilgrim's Rest Inn, one can be purchased from Henpecked Hou before he joins as a follower.
- After completing The Slave Traders, one can be purchased from whichever of the two suspects players chose to exonerate (either Chandler Ling in the Golden Way or Scholar Songtao in the Scholar's Garden.)
Scholar Gem[]
- One can be purchased from Zin Bu.
- After completing The Slave Traders, one can be purchased from whichever of the two suspects players chose to exonerate (either Chandler Ling in the Golden Way or Scholar Songtao in the Scholar's Garden.)
Superior Scholar Gem[]
- One can be purchased from Zin Bu after reaching Chapter 5.
- At the Lotus Assassin Fortress, one is obtained along with a piece of the Dragon Amulet after defeating Grand Inquisitor Jia.
Flawless Scholar Gem[]
The Flawless Scholar Gem can be purchased from Zin Bu after reaching Chapter 6.
Ultimate Scholar Gem[]
The Ultimate Scholar Gem can only be obtained in the in the PC version of the game. It is found in a bamboo cask at the Pilgrim's Rest Inn.
