The Power of Tears (涙のパワー, Namida no Pawā, "Power of Tears") is the one hundred and seventy-fourth chapter of Initial D.
Plot[]
At the Fujiwara Tofu Store, Bunta notices the first snow, and makes plans to fit studded tires.
At Lake Akina, Takumi says they should leave as it is cold. He asks Natsuki if she was lying about getting advice, and she says she couldn't think of any other way to get him to agree to meet.
The pair head down the mountain, and Natsuki asks if Takumi has any plans for Christmas Eve. Takumi tells her that they don't celebrate Christmas in their house, which Natsuki finds sad.
Takumi drops Natsuki off, and asks why she keeps focusing on him, saying that she could be with anyone if she wanted to. Natsuki tells him that she doesn't have a reason, she just likes him. She begins to cry and heads home. Takumi is shocked, and feels bad for making her cry.
The next day, at the gas station, the crew shovel the snow off of the forecourt. Iketani asks Itsuki if he's gotten his winter tyres, and offers to teach him to drift in the snow. Itsuki and Takumi notice how spacey Takumi is. Yuichi calls Iketani over and tells him that someone has called in looking for a job, and that he'd like him to show them the job.
Some time later, Natsuki shows up at the gas station. Takumi assumes that she's here to see him, but she walks right by and tells Yuichi that she had called in the day prior. Takumi suddenly realises that she is the new employee.
