Mystery of the Second Eight Six (因縁の対決 再び!!, Innen no Taiketsu Futatabi!!, "Fated Showdown - Once Again!!") is the one hundred and tenth chapter of Initial D.

Plot[]

Takumi sits in his bedroom at the Fujiwara Tofu Store reading, when he hears a tapping on his window. He goes to investigate, and finds Itsuki throwing stones. Itsuki throws a rock just as Takumi opens the window, leading to it hitting him right in the head. Takumi says the stone would have broken his window, and throws it back down to the street, where it ricochets onto Itsuki's Eight-Five.

Takumi comes down to talk, and reminds Itsuki that he doesn't want to go to Akagi. Itsuki says that he doesn't plan on going either, and asks him to come to Akina with him, to give him some pointers on his driving.

On Akina, Itsuki apologises for what he had said that morning, as he didn't know. Takumi is surprised that he knows about the battle, and Itsuki says that Iketani had told him.

On their way to Akagi, Iketani and Kenji are passed by a turbocharged Eight-Six Levin. The pair are shocked by how effortlessly it overtook them on the uphill, and realise that it must not be from Gunma, or they would have heard about it.

At Lake Akina, Itsuki passes on the message from Keisuke, but Takumi dismisses it, as he sees it as a loss. Itsuki asks about Kyoichi's skill, and Takumi says that he wouldn't even have been able to beat him on Akina. Itsuki asks about the Eight-Six, and Takumi says while they can't fix the engine, they can replace it. He regrets going to Akagi, because if he had stayed home the car wouldn't have been damaged.
