This template needs an update to reflect the move to Miraheze, but in its present form that most likely will require somekind of #if-switch that functions as "{{wikia|incubatorplus:Wp/X}}" replacing "[[:wikia:incubatorplus:Wp/X|...]]" with "[[:miraheze:incubator:Wp/X|...]]", if that shortcut works. This is way above my wiki skills though. --OWTB (talk) 12:43, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
wp/nys origins/nyitting
[edit source]I would have thought AGF was valid here as well, the reason for page move to user space is because the terms arent sufficiently equal between english and nyungar. Origins in engish is where it started, nyitting in nyungar also referred to as dreamtime in english{another inaccuracy) as has also been called the cold times also not accurate, but closer to physical time point. I didnt leave redirect behind because I dont like redirects to userspace, the articles are in user space because Darwins theory of evolution doesnt equal nyitting, one is the development of people(physical) and the other is the development of a peoples culture. With nyungar the "stories" of nyitting and cultural development are also reflecting geographic history from fault lines shifting, to glaciers melting, and sea levels rising. Gnangarra (talk) 03:08, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Gnangarra: It wasn't a matter of AGF at all, and I'm sorry you took it that way. I was simply trying to make things easier for you: I thought you could potentially move the page to wherever in mainspace you really think it should go and then start editing there. But you can do it in user space if you prefer, I have no problem with that. I also have no problem with your not leaving a redirect behind if that's what you prefer. The only (small) problem was that the move left behind broken redirects in the original location (Wp/nys/Origins and Talk:Wp/nys/Origins). Any time you move or delete a page (either one), it's simply worthwhile to check incoming links first to make sure you are not going to break something. (Click on "What links here" at the left of the page to find out.) That's all. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:03, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- Redlinks arent broken links, they are links to articles where appropriate content needs to be written. The content that was put there doesnt fit the translation from english to nyungar. Gnangarra (talk) 13:35, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Gnangarra: I'm not intending to argue with you, and nothing you say is wrong, exactly. However, know that if I find a redirect that (a) is broken (i.e., its target is gone) and (b) has no incoming links, I will delete it as part of routine cleanup. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:41, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Saraiki Wikipedia
[edit source]Dear, What are updates about Saraiki Wikipedia.Sraiki (talk) 14:25, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- I was about to write you. Please look in about 30 minutes at Talk:Wp/skr/پہلا پرت. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:27, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks Dear Sraiki (talk) 14:35, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
- Dear StevenJ81 I am happy to know that Language Com: is working on it. Kindly this be approved as soon as possible, please.Sraiki (talk) 14:11, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Sraiki: You're welcome. Just to keep your expectations reasonable: (1) It may take another week or two to finalize approval. (2) After that, it will still take some time to create the wiki. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:16, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

- @Sraiki: We're aware of this. We're trying to finalize things. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:32, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- @StevenJ81:, Thanks for pushing Saraiki Wiktionary. As Saraiki is phonetic language, i.e. written according to sounds and alphabets are according to sound, so there is no need for writing the pronunciation separately. Sufficient work has been done. Thanks again.Sraiki (talk) 13:54, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Sraiki: Thank you for that information. Question: Does your Wiktionary have a project page (Wiktionary: namespace page) describing how that works? That would probably be useful and worthwhile to have. StevenJ81 (talk) 13:56, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- @StevenJ81: Thanks, Namespace page will be similar to namespace page of Wikipedia. There is no special Namespace page separately. It is translated in the https://translatewiki.net/. Sraiki (talk) 14:10, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
- @StevenJ81: Dear, Saraiki community is thankful to you for progress in approval of Saraiki Wiktionary. We are also thankful for the approval and language vitrifaction.
- Logo is available at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wiktionary-logo-skr.png

Hello.
The Kotava project should be validated. You have seen the vitality and quality and consistency for over one year. Today it has 4918 articles, making it largely the most dynamic of all WP projects developed in the Incubator.
The open debate on September 26 showed no opposition from any LangCom member. Why wait more? Thank you. Axel xadolik (talk) 16:10, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- I just saw your email and your message to JHS. As soon as we clear out Tacawit Wiktionary and Guianan Creole Wikipedia (meaning: as soon as Phabricator tasks for creating those two are open), I will get back to Kotava. StevenJ81 (talk) 16:13, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you very much Steven for not forgetting this beautiful project! Many contributors keep asking me when it will finally be formalized. Axel xadolik (talk) 16:19, 12 November 2019 (UTC) :)
- I think you now understand that some members of LangCom have very particular views about certain things, and I try to manage that accordingly. Having JHS working hard with me on this helps me a lot. Your turn is coming ... StevenJ81 (talk) 16:26, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- MF-W just asked (in the LangCom list): 'Is there some proof here of any of: "independently proved number of speakers, use as an auxiliary language outside of online communities created solely for the purpose, usage outside of Wikimedia, publication of works in the language for general sale", as suggested by the admirable Language Proposal Policy?' So please be prepared to respond to that. StevenJ81 (talk) 16:33, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

- What does independent proof mean in such a context? There is obviously no official census or academic Kotava exam that would validate a competence. For this reason, the numbers are necessarily estimations and they continue to evolve for 40 years, positively or negatively. What I can currently factually say:
- - 10/12 active contributors on Incubator (cf. page here), who can handle a good conversation in Kotava, writing articles (without many mistakes);
- - Outside, I would say between 30 and 40 people of the same level, and especially most of those with 4th or 5th level (the very fluent speakers, especially those who translate literature);
- - Beyond this circle "known" and qualitative, the number of 200 to 300 people is often advanced for many people who know a little the language, currently. Otherwise, perhaps 1000 or 2000 learned it a little at a time, but a lot have completely abandoned since, especially in Africa in the 2000s.
- One thing also to consider is that Kotava is an aprioristic language, unlike other constructed languages as Interlingua, Interlingue or Lingua Franca Nova. This means that those who learn Kotava are much more motivated than those who are interested in these languages, which seem to them (especially for Europeans) much easier but do not go into much depth.
- This is why the production figures of real content (translations of works, encyclopedic articles, original videos, blogs in the language, etc.) are much more significant indicators than the number of followers on this or that network, for example. Or than the noise and buzz about... Axel xadolik (talk) 17:27, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia Ladina
[edit source]Hi StevenJ81, I contact you in name of the whole group of contributors of Wikipedia Ladina Incubator to ask you please for your help to become an autonomous Wikipedia Ladina. Ladin is a minority language officially recognized by the Italian State, the most ancient alpine language yet spoken today in various areas of the Alps. Wikipedia Ladina is referred to Ladin spoken in the Dolomites’ valleys by ca. 30.000 people and taught at school. Some days ago, Wikipedia Ladina Incubator got over 1.000 articles after 2 years of work and we are going on with the work. Some members of our group of contributors are retired teachers who aren’t digitally skillful, so that I put and am putting their precious contributions into the Incubator. Moreover, we made a great work with the digital library of Wikisource and provided proper connections to the uploaded contents by Ladin authors as you can see at the link:
s:it:Categoria:Testi in ladino
Of course, I and the group are ready to translate in Ladin the service - pages and titles you may tell us. Thank you in advance for your attention and greetings from the Dolomites mountains Starladin (talk)
- @Starladin: I got to know your community a little bit, both around the Wikisource and because I am a sysop on "Ladino Wikipedia"—meaning Judeo-Spanish Wikipedia. So I'm frequently enough disambiguating for people ...
- Your project activity is just about to the point it needs to be: we need at least three registered users making at least 10 edits every month, and preferably more than that.
- You need to translate the interface more. All of the "MediaWiki (most important messages)" found at this link have to be translated. These, in turn, are a subset of "MediaWiki (core)"; once the "most important" group is fully translated, enough of the others in "core" have to be translated to get that up to 13% or more.
- You do have 1,000+ pages here, but nearly all are stubs. We need a reasonable portion of the pages here to be complete encyclopedia articles before we can approve this as an autonomous project. "Complete" doesn't mean Encyclopaedia Britannica complete, but it does mean that the pages have to have a reasonable amount of content, and must have some references supporting that content. I'd urge you and your community to stop creating new pages at this point, and to focus on building out the pages you have.
- While I've got your attention, I wanted to make sure that your efforts on Italian Wikisource are not duplicating the efforts on Multilingual Wikisource: See s:mul:Category:Ladin.
- Good luck, and be in touch if I can be helpful. StevenJ81 (talk) 14:34, 19 November 2019 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your reply and for your help. We will follow your indication and improve the pages as much as possible. As we are a community of speakers of just 30.000 people, of course our contributors' potential can't be compared to that of larger language communities. The point is, that people outside the actual group of contributors can't make edits as the wiki is in the incubator and not easily accessible to the public as autonomous wikis. We will translate the interface following your indications. We are not duplicating the efforts on Multilingual Wikisource. Thank you very much and all the best to you Starladin (talk)
- Scusate se mi intrometto nella vostra discussione e in lingua italiana. Su it.Wikisource i testi in lingua ladina sono (quasi tutti) secondo la grafia originale. - [by Google translate] Capisco. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:47, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi Steven, I hope you are well. I contact you in name of the whole group of contributors of Wikipedia Ladina Incubator to ask you please for your help. We are working on regularly for Ladin Wikipedia Incubator being improved and we have already the logo of Ladin Wikipedia at this link.
Please if you let me know if there are some more service – pages that we shall translate and how to proceed to submit the request for Ladin Wiki Incubator being approved. Thank you very much. All the best Starladin (talk)

Balochi Wikipedia
[edit source]According to https://www.ethnologue.com/language/bal there are three distinct languages Eastern Balochi [bgp], Southern Balochi [bcc], Western Balochi [bgn] are part of Balochi. So it is suggested that Wp/bal be deleted. and other three be maintained. But actual situation is that the community is not interested in Wp/bgn. The eastern community like Wp/bcc. So only Wp/bcc be maintained. In short: Only one be accommodated. Wp/bgn, Wp/bcc, Wp/bgp be merged in Wp/balSraiki (talk) 12:09, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

Sorry for my wra-0, but now a little bad news is that, per SIL code change request 2020-004, the iso639-3:wra is deprecated, and splitted to three codes:
- iso639-3:bpe for Bauni
- iso639-3:suo for Bouni
- iso639-3:uni for Uni
According to the Incubator test project policy, the wra is therefore no longer valid for a test project, and your project must therefore be moved to one of Wp/bpe, Wp/suo or Wp/uni, so the de facto question is, that which one language of the above were you contribut(ing/ed)? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 02:04, 4 February 2021 (UTC)
