“ My womb displayed my name to be Serpent O. R. I am the son of Megatron, I am here to continue his work. I am the future bearer of the Matrix and, future ruler of Cybertron. „
~ Serpentor introduces himself

The Serpent Organic Robot, often shortened as Serpent O.R. is the main antagonist of the third part of the G.I. Joe Vs. The Transformers crossover comic miniseries published by Devil's Due Press.

He is a technorganic hybrid created in secret by scientists using the remains of Megatron. He then declared himself as Megatron's son and set out to continues his plans of conquest.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

  • Immediately after awakening for the first time, having accessed Megatron's memories of being enslaved by the Commander, he killed the scientists surrounding him and attacked the Cobra Commander and his goons with the intent to kill, then armoring himself with Megatron's parts and using Soundwave's head to forcibly extract the story of Cybertron from the deceased Decepticon.
  • He orchestrated a plan to conquer all of Cybertron, using the Cobra Commander to lure G.I. Joe agents and the Autobots to his location, where he suprise attacked them and taking control of the Battle Mechs to force the pilots to attack their own friends.
  • After being unable to take control of Grimlock due to his spark, he angrily refused to be denied and made it his objective to snuff out all of the Autobots' sparks, viewing them as nothing more than their power source.
  • He fought and tossed Scarlett aside before choosing to kill all of his foes at once by departing and having the roof collapse in on them.
  • He infiltrated a government facility and took out all the guards, while he did refuse to fight Firewall due to her being a child in his eyes, he still threatened to kill her if she stood in his way.
  • He used the spacebridge on Earth to transport himself to Cybertron, draining it of it's energy and rendering it useless while also promising to return and conquer Earth to add both it and Cybertron to his own empire.
  • After arriving in Cybertron, he forcibly uploaded information into the Predacons and Piranacons to make them loyal to him simply for being Megatron's "progeny".
  • After having the Stunticons join his army the same way, he had an ambush be organized on the Autobots and their allies after they followed him to Cybertron, mocking their little numbers and injuring Grimlock by having him shot in the head before capturing Bumblebee and coldly murdering him by using his tentacles to crush him to death.
  • When Hawk called him out for killing Bumblebee and saying he was a good friend, Serpent O.R. merely stated he was someone who was in his way and dismissed the Autobot as just a casualty before having all the Autobots and Joes captured and brought back as prisoners to the Decepticon Headquarters.
  • While he did made sure that the prisoners were in stable conditions and would not perish, it was only so he could use them as bargaining chips against Optimus.
  • He jammed the Autobot search party's radars to keep them from finding his base and releasing the prisoners.
  • He had all the remaining Decepticons join his cause by once again using his tentacles to provide them with the information of his creation and rallying all the Decepticons to attack the Autobot Peace Ceremony, claiming that the Autobots are descendants of slaves and are to be that again in order to serve the Decepticon Cause.
  • He had the Combiners in his ranks raid the ceremony and wage as much destruction as possible and severely injuring Autobots while he left a recorded message for Optimus where he declared himself the ruler of Cybertron and demanded he surrender and hand over the Matrix as otherwise he would execute all the Autobots and Joes that he held prisoner.
  • When called out by Optimus on how he's just acting out of his own ego, he retorts that Optimus would be nothing without war and would have never become such a great leader if not for it.
  • In spite of calling off the attack, he did it only because Optimus surrendered and likely would have incremented the attack force if the Prime hadn't cooperated with his demands.
  • When Hawk insulted him and Megatron, he nearly strangled him in a fit of rage before regaining his composure and leaving the cell.
  • He had Optimus chained up and brought before him to question him on his beliefs before taking the Matrix. While he did promise to release everyone, it was only if he got the Matrix and after realizing the prisoners had escaped, he abandoned all possibilities of peace and engaged Optimus himself to forcibly take the Matrix.
  • He ordered the Decepticons to join the fight and recapture Optimus as it was apparent he couldn't take him by himself.
  • He carelessly ignores his own wounds and the lives of his men in favor of obtaining the Matrix in order to heal his wounds.
  • He and his Decepticons beat Optimus to near-death, with Serpent O.R. only stopping as to not damage the Matrix, forcefully extracting the relic and nearly killing Optimus before claiming it for himself in order to become Serpentor Prime and fulfill his ambitions.
  • His ignorance allowed the Commander to take control of his body and attempt to take over both planets by destroying all Autobots and Decepticons.
  • His very existence caused several problems later on as the U.S. Governmet refused to take responsibility for the creation of Serpent O.R. which led Hawk to leave G.I. Joe and the Autobots to terminate their alliance with them as well as abandoning contact with humanity due to losing their trust in them after their actions with Megatron's remains.
  • The Heinous Standard in this continuity is not the highest as planet-wide threats like Unicron or Megatronus are never introduced, as such, Serpentor only really has to compete with his "father" and Starscream, yet he still manages to stand out as he's the one that came the closest to defeating the Autobots, straight up being the one to finally murder Bumblebee and leaving the Autobot Forces in complete despair, following by capturing Optimus Prime and beating him within an inch of his life, succesfully taking the Matrix of Leadership for himself and nearly ending the Prime's life. While the Cobra Commander does end up taking control of his body after his change of heart, Serpentor still stands out for being the one who took all the steps to get there himself and enabling the Commander with the necessary power to take out his enemies, with even him admitting he couldn't have made it without Serpentor's actions.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He has a huge level of respect for his "father" Megatron, which he shows more and more as the series continues: His very first action was to attack the Commander in retribution for his enslavement of Megatron, he knelt before Megatron's head after finding out the truth behind his origins and promised to continue his work, he is a genuinely good leader to the Decepticons, stopping in-fighting between the ranks and uniting them all under a common cause, genuinely wishing to bring glory to the Decepticon cause as a whole in honor of Megatron, and nearly killing Hawk when he called Megatron and him glorified guns.
  • He had some moral agency issues due to being influenced by Megatron's hate and rage, being completely unaware of the harm he was causing to his enemies and blindly following the desire to fulfill his father's goals, not even knowing what a spark was and getting the wish to understand life and it's meaning, outright questioning why he began to doubt his goals over simply extinguishing one spark.
    • After killing Bumblebee, he was genuinely confused on why he felt something leaving his body due to his unfamiliarity with the nature of sentient beings and later later consulted with Hawk, wishing to know why he felt this way and the motive behind their reactions to Bee's death, later thanking Hawk for the insight.
    • This would influence him so much, that part of the reason he wants the Matrix so much is not for the power it gives but so that it can give him a soul of his own so he can be truly alive and comprehend the meaning behind words like spark and soul.
  • He has genuine respect for Optimus Prime, being honored to meet him due to his esteemed leadership and honoring Optimus' request to spare the prisoners if he surrendered. Later when the Decepticons brought him in chains and threw him to the ground, he had them sit him down, claiming that a Prime deserves respect and complimenting him for his history and being chosen by the Matrix. He even apologizes after nearly killing him, lamenting that they couldn't use more peaceful options.
  • After finally getting the Matrix and gaining a soul, losing his moral agency and understanding the difference between right and wrong, he becomes extremely remorseful over all he's done and is horrified at the prospect of all the lives he's taken as he calls himself worthless, choosing to redeem himself by disbanding his army and telling all the Decepticons to live in peace with the Autobots, choosing to try and take his own life with Motormaster's cannon so that the Matrix can be returned to someone worthy of it.
