NOTE: The Fun Publications version of Shattered Glass Optimus Prime is approved as Inconsistently Heinous, while his IDW counterpart is Pure Evil.

Optronix, also known as Optimus Prime and later Nova Prime, is the main antagonist of the Transformers: Shattered Glass series, published by Fun Publications.

Unlike his mainstream counterpart, he is the tyrannical leader of the evil Autobots who wants to conquer the universe for his own desires. He is also the archenemy of Megatron, his polar opposite and the leader of the heroic Decepticons.

His Evil Ranking[]

What Makes Him Heinous?[]

Background[]

  • Prior to the Great War, he was once a power-hungry librarian who wanted to look into the true meaning of life at the Great Cybertionian Archives.
  • Upon realizing there is no truth for the true meaning of life, he rose through the ranks to become Optimus Prime, the Autobot leader who changed Cybertron's history.
    • His act of becoming an Autobot leader led to hundreds of Cybertronians to join his cause before having his armies to attack from one city to the other, thus instigating the Great War. He also murdered those who refused to hoin his Autobot cause.
  • He ordered the Autobots to destroy Starscream's city after the latter refused to join his Autobot cause, causing him to be traumatized until the Decepticons found him and recruited him into their ranks.
  • Took advantage of Megatron's transformation ability by copying it, causing his Decepticon army to be quickly overwhelmed by the Autobots.
  • He murdered Drench after suspecting that one of the Autobots might betray him due to paranoia.
    • This led to Sideswipe being appalled by Prime's assassination of Drench until Prime later staged an ambush on him, causing him to get nearly killed.
  • He ripped Ultra Magnus' face off and exiled him to Paradron when he tried to stage a coup against his brother.
  • He convinced Rodimus to join the Autobot faction after the Decepticons slaughtered most of the Wreckers during an attack on Praxus Delta, which he agreed.

Shattered Glass[]

  • It is heavily implied that he used the corpses of Decepticons as decorations, as shown by the chambers and the hooks.
  • He forced Cliffjumper to execute Rumble by sending him to the Smelting Pool.
  • When Cliffjumper calls him out on his actions, Prime guns him down with his ion blaster and had Rodimus, Blurr, Ricochet, and Goldbug mock him, before taunting him and disposing Cliffjumper's body in the Rad Zone.
  • It is implied that Prime had banished Alpha Trion to the Transcendant Technomorphs Universe as he told Goldbug that he became another world's problem.
  • Upon confronting Megatron, Prime taunts him that he cannot win and his plan being foiled even though the platform stood tall, before mocking him and ordering Grimlock to attack the Decepticons.
  • When he sees Cliffjumper from a distance, Prime calls him a traitor for siding with the Decepticons before trying to shoot him with his ion blaster.
  • Rants at Megatron and the Decepticons that he will hunt them down before trying to shoot to them with his ion blaster, only to get shot in the chest by the Decepticon leader.
  • In an attempt to steal the fuel for the Ark to conquer Earth and beyond, he and his Autobots attack the Decepticons at the Arch-Ayr fuel dump, forcing them to defend themselves.
  • Gains his upper hand against Carnivac by kicking him away before Wheeljack and his Dinobots arrive at the battlefield.
  • He suggested Wheeljack to order his creations, the Dinobots, to kill the Decepticons, which he agreed to do so before they turned against each other.
  • Threatened to punish Wheeljack again by sending him to Gygax, only for Side Burn to come up with a suggestion to have Wheeljack work at the Ark's computers as an alternative punishment.
  • Agrees with Side Burn's suggestion by sending Wheeljack to work at the Ark's computers before ordering Blurr and Rodimus to bring the Dinobots to him.
  • Upon seeing a free-willed Grimlock for the first time, he threatened to punish him and the other Autobots by sending them to the Agonizing Rehabilitation Chamber, before the Dinobot told him a single error on the Ark's fueling system.
  • He had Blaster blow the heads of several Scrounges off.
  • When Ricochet gives back the credit of capturing Megatron to him, Prime tries to pull the lever that would lead to Megatron's death trap and would've done so had Razorclaw not intervened on time.
  • As Megatron freed himself from his death trap, Prime attempts to kill him before getting pinned down by the Decepticon leader.
  • Attempts to kill Megatron for the second time, only for him to collapse on the floor due to lack of energy.
  • Kicks Rampage away before using Rumbler as a weapon in an attempt to injure Megatron, only for the Decepticon leader to use his wrist to free his hand from Nightstick's control.
  • Upon arriving at the Ark's launch site, he orders the Autobots to pursue the fleeing Ark before Nightbeat told him they can't pursue them without a spaceship and the dangers of Plait Expanse.
  • Orders Nightbeat to have a headcount and had Scoop send Ricochet and Crosshairs to the Agonizing Rehabilitation Chamber, before taunting Blurr that he failed him for the last time before the Autobot seeker presumably dies in the leader's arms.

Reunification Arc[]

  • It is revealed that he is responsible for ordering his Autobots to build Omega Doom, as explained in one of Aquarius' flashbacks.
  • When Warpath refused to listen to Prime's warning to leave and tried to attack him, he simply uses Ricochet as a living shield to protect himself, killing him.
  • He crushes Warpath's chest cannon with his hand before throwing him to Hound, obliterating Camshaft's head with a blaster and crushes Kup's head with a bare head.
  • Upon being confronted by Alpha Trion and his associates, he had Omega Doom kill the Old One by simply obliterating him with a blast.
  • Orders Omega Doom to kill all the Decepticons, which he obliged by assaulting the Decepticons.
    • This led to Doom launching a missile to the sun, which nearly decimated a galaxy until Nexus Prime used his powers to stop him from doing the same thing again.
  • After getting upgraded by a local tech and having the G-Metal sword, he goes to Polyhex and slaughters several Autobots who abandoned him during the battle of Sector 17 of Mirtonian Quadrant.

Another Light Arc[]

  • Stages an attack on the Decepticon City in an attempt to kill off the Decepticons and would've succeeded in killing thousands of people had Galvatron not intervened in the battle.
  • Fights against Galvatron, which he sliced his fusion cannon in half and nearly killed him with his G-Metal sword until the Decepticon leader quickly shot Prime in the chest to prevent him from doing so.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • The main reason why Optimus Prime cannot be PE or even NPE is because he redeems himself in Another Light arc, where he is reformatted into Nova Prime after accepting Unicron's offer to change his ways.
    • To add his prevention further, he also gave Rodimus Prime a chance to surrender and only defeated him when the Autobot leader refused to accept his offer after promising Unicron that he will stop the evil Autobots from spreading their corruption further. He also had the Knights of Unicron corner the evil Autobots and helped Gaea in her fight against Primus by shooting him in the eye, allowing her to defeat her brother.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only incarnation of Optimus Prime to be Inconsistently Heinous.
