Evil-Lyn, real name Lyn, is the secondary antagonist of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, serving as a major anti-hero in Part 1 and the main antagonist of Part 2. She was the loyal right-hand of Skeletor who teams up with Teela and the other heroes to restore magic to Etheria to save the universe following the death of Skeletor and He-Man.

She is voiced by Lena Headey, who also portrayed Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones and Morgana from Tales of Arcadia.

Her Evil Ranking[]

Debated Validation[]

  • She looks horrified when Skeletor kills the Sorceress of Grayskull and lets Duncan go to mourn her death. However after becoming the new sorceress, she later comes to taunt an imprisoned Duncan about the Sorceress and his love of the sorceress before bragging how she is much more powerful than the sorceress ever was. She also looks horrified when Skeletor comes back and stabs Prince Adam/He-Man in the back but that could just be shock on how Skeletor revived himself especially since later on she brags to Skeletor how she will do what he could not and kill He-Man, making it unclear if she really had standards then or not.

What Makes Her Heinous?[]

  • She assisted with Skeletor’s evil plots for years to take over Castle Greyskull and kill He-Man, Teela, and the other Heroic Warriors, at one point teaming up with Mer-Man to drown them.
  • In Skeletor’s final assault against Castle Greyskull, she overwhelmed the Sorceress of Grayskull and held her captive, ambushing Duncan when he came to her rescue and nearly killing him if not for Orko but she still defeated Orko.
  • She electrocuted Cringer and attacked Teela.
  • She betrayed the heroes and decided to side back with a revived Skeletor who had just mortally wounded a revived Adam/He-Man and use Sword of Power to become a god even though Skeletor literally admitted to using her to revive himself. She used her magic to restrain Andra who tried to redeem her and capture all the heroes, bringing them back upstairs to the Sorceress and blasting Duncan and capturing him to taunt and sadistically smile at the Sorceress.
  • After becoming the new Sorceress of Grayskull when Skeletor killed the original one and gave her the power, she used her newfound power to track down where the previous Sorceress sent the heroes so Skeletor could hunt them down.
  • She sadistically threatens the rest of Snake Mountain, telling them that mistakes will now be met with swift and painful punishments.
  • She tortured the Orlax of Primeria in front of an imprisoned Duncan simply to flaunt her power.
  • She seduced Skeletor to trick him into relinquishing the power of Grayskull before stealing the Sword of Protection and betraying him (albeit Skeletor absolutely deserved it) calling upon the power of Grayskull to merge with her Sorceress powers in order to become a god far more powerful than He-Man, God Skeletor, or the previous Sorceress ever were and becoming Dark-Lyn.
  • She destroys Preternia (heaven), wiping everyone there from existence just to convince people that life has no meaning and it is all simply chaos and endless suffering.
  • She refuses redemption from Prince Adam and tries to kill him and Skeletor
  • She kills Skeletor’s pet Panthor simply to spite Skeletor.
  • She tried to wipe out the entire universe and end all existence (including her own).
  • She summons everyone from Subternia to fight for her and kill the people of Eternia who all joined forces to rise up against her (she also did this to taunt Adam when he said no one alive would fight for her, so she just brought the dead).
  • She rejects redemption from Orko (who she technically revived as he was in Subternia as well) and duelled him.
  • She electrocutes and tries to kill Teela, who became the new sorceress, in their final battle for the fate of the universe.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She has an incredibly tragic backstory. She was born into poverty and on her fifth birthday, her parents tried to eat her which forced her to flee into the sewers where she would live for 20 years. Then just when she went out to the surface and tried to steal to survive, thinking her life was worth more than literal sewage, she was cornered before being “saved” by Skeletor who taught her to fight and enhanced her magic only to use her as his tool and constantly abuse her. While she hated Skeletor for all his abuse, she stayed with him out of gratitude for him saving her and giving her a place to belong. She only betrays Skeletor after he shows her the vast emptiness of the universe which breaks her and turns her into a nihilist, believing that there is no point to life as it is just endless suffering all alone, with all struggles being for nothing, and that death is needed to free everyone from it.
  • She is shown to be quite honorable, joining with the heroes in Part 1 to restore magic and save the universe out of genuine altruism unlike every other former ally of Skeletor who decided to selfishly try to take advantage of the chaos and take over following Skeletor’s death. Mer-Man even points this out, telling her they could have worked together to take control and they would have been able to conquer Eternia and the universe but she refused and in the finale Teela and Orko even point out how she isn’t inherently a bad person and she helped them save the universe which Evil-Lyn admits is true. She also honored her deal to let Mer-Man go after he showed her and the heroes the entrance to Subternia.
  • She has some Pet the Dog moments like giving Andra genuine advice not to pursue dangerous men as they are only in it for themselves and will never return your affection (Evil-Lyn knowing from experience with Skeletor which she admits to being a fool about) and advising Teela to face her fears instead of running away from them because if she didn’t they would haunt her for the rest of her life.
  • Although she has a few moments of getting angry at him, she has mutual care and loyalty towards Beast Man, generally being cordial with him, thanking him for staying with her after Skeletor’s death, and admitting he was the closest thing she had to a friend. She also generally feels remorse if she gets angry at him.
  • She forms a genuine friendship with Orko during the group’s time in Subternia, sympathizing with his backstory of not living up to his parents and species’ expectations along with giving him good advice that he had to struggle for what he wanted and people wouldn’t give him. She pointed out how people insulted Orko by calling him weak because they didn’t understand the true beautiful magic he possessed. She also jokingly tells him how she added Evil to her name right before he asked and laughed with him about it. Her kind words and advice would inspire Orko to unlock his true power to sacrifice himself to save the group from Scare Glow and she risked her life and waning powers to try and save him before collapsing due to her lack of magic. She would mourn Orko’s death and left her helmet at his grave to honor him. In the finale after her complete redemption, she would save Orko from being damned back to Subternia.
  • She is constantly abused verbally and physically by Skeletor which is portrayed very sympathetically. In fact even when she comes to taunt an imprisoned Duncan and torture the Orlax, Duncan tells her how everyone in the castle hears how Skeletor abuses her to the point that even the people in the dungeons feel sorry for her and nobody in the castle fears her, they all just pity her.
  • She becomes an extremist near the end of the series after seeing the vast emptiness of the universe and there being no grand design breaks her and convinces her that life is just endless agonizing pain that has no meaning, making everyone alone and therefore the best way to free everyone is through destroying everything to stop the endless pain. She even reveals to Teela that she searched and searched the whole universe to find out what all the suffering was for only to find nothing. She genuinely had good intentions and believed what she was doing was right even if her ends are horrific.
  • She ultimately redeems herself in the finale after Teela shows her that while the universe is pain, death, and hurt like Lyn says, it is also beauty, life, and love, which convinces her not to destroy the universe with Lyn crying at how beautiful the universe really is and voluntarily relinquishing her god-like power. She saves Orko from being sent back to Subternia and her final scene is her going to (what looks like Orko’s homeworld Trolla) to find her place in the universe, leaving behind the staff Skeletor once gave her.
