NOTE: This page is only about the book version of Harold from the original book series, as the TV series version has not been voted Inconsistently Admirable and the movie version has been voted as Near Pure Good. Thus, only Book Harold's info and actions should be put here.

Harold Mitchell Hutchins is one of the two main protagonists (alongside George Beard) of Dav Pilkey’s Captain Underpants book series.

He is a prankster in Jerome Horwitz Elementary, who pull pranks on the school, and also likes to create comics alongside his best friend, George. He is the artist, while George is the writer.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • Even as kindergartners, he and George helped reform Kipper Krupp and his thugs and saved all of the other kindergartners from their wrath.
  • He and George saved the city of Piqua, Ohio, and the entire world many, MANY times, or at least aided in doing so.
    • They destroyed the villainous robots that Dr. Diaper created and also destroyed his Lazer-Matic 2000 to prevent him form blowing up the moon and destroying major cites.
    • They threw disgusting cafeteria food into the mouths of the Talking Toilets, making them throw up everything they ate.
    • They created the Robo-Plunger 2000, which defeated the Turbo Toilet 2000 for the first time.
    • They attempted to sacrifice themselves by willingly tricking Zorx, Klax, & Jennifer into putting Ultra-Nasty Self-Destruct Juice inside their UFO's engines to destroyed their spaceship.
    • They gave Captain Underpants superpowers, which helped defeat even more villains, such as:
      • Professor Poopypants (the first time)
      • Robo-George and the Harold 2000
      • Giant-Evil Sulu
      • Tippy Tinkletrousers (temporarily; the second time)
      • Slightly Younger Tiny Tippy Tinkletrousers (temporarily)
      • Turbo Toilet 2000 (temporarily; the second time)
      • Sir Stinks-A-Lot (the first time; temporarily)
    • They dehynotized the Wicked Wedgie Woman to get out of her evil supervillainess trance and turning her into a nice teacher.
    • They brought Captain Underpants back his superpowers from Melvin Sneedly when he try to use them for fame.
    • They shrunk their evil counterparts.
    • They convinced the Cavemen to defeat Supa-Mega Tippy Tinkletrousers.
  • He and George help Captain Underpants return to his superstate by making a comic that explains that he swallowed a magic amulet as a child that allowed him to instantly fight off the powers of starch, and force him to read it so he can defeat Wedgie Woman and her robots.
  • He and George adopted Sulu after finding out how cruel Melvin was to him.
  • He and George went back in time to get the Combine-O-Tron in order to switch Melvin’s and Krupp’s brains back to normal.
  • When Melvin wails about how he's not a “superhero” anymore, George and Harold call out him for being an evil and selfish jerk and not wanting to save countless people and trying to take the credit for defeating the Robo-Boogers.
  • He and George decided to save Sulu and Crackers by traveling 65 million years ago and leaving them there to keep them safe.
  • When seeing the three eggs in Crackers’ nest, He and George decide to take care of the eggs as Sulu and Crackers sacrifice themselves to save the galaxy.
  • He and George lure the Turbo Toilet 2000 to break into the Piqua Valley Home for the Reality Challenge so they can break Captain Underpants out to fight him.
  • By the end of the series, he and George decided to use Melvin's time machine to find Crackers and Sulu so they can meet their children.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • While he and George are good-hearted boys, they do get into a lot of mischief... too much mischief to be PG or even NPG.
    • Their pranks are shown to be rude and nasty and can sometimes infuriate many. Plus, they never show remorse for these actions, either.
  • After Sir Stinks-A-Lot extract the superpowers – as well as the effects from the 3D Hypno Ring – from Mr. Krupp, which cease the existence of Captain Underpants. George and Harold (alongside their older counterparts) lack any emotional reaction, and didn't treat the Captain Underpants mind wipe with any sympathy at all, which is extremely jerkish and insensitive for Near Pure Good.
